Sexual Exploitation And The Right Of Women In Nigeria by hilltop93(m): 9:10am On Feb 21, 2016
This post was prompted by the recurring posts that are related to gender inequality and the rights of women.
The problems of oppression, exploitation, discrimination and subjugation of women are neither new phenomena nor peculiar to Nigeria alone but the word at large. Millions of women across the globe live under the condition of abject deprivation and attack against their natural and fundamental human rights. It appears that majority of womenfolk suffer discrimination, exploitation or oppression because they are women and, therefore, regarded as members of a "subordinate" class. In the recent past, women's right has been a great concern all over the world (Nigeria most especially). This therefore, calls for the need to examine this problem in Nigerian context.
Like every other day I login to Nairaland to see one post or more that relates to women's oppression, exploitation and subjugation etc. Posts like the following; Pastor rapes..., tenant touches a female neighbor's..., My boss is asking me to..., Police man beats a pregnant woman..., A guy touches her..., etc. has become too usual that if care is not taken, the next generation will see no wrong in them.
What do you think is the problem? What measures do you think would control this phenomena?
Kindly contribute wisely.

Women would also imply girls, ladies, female should you be thinking we are talking about women as older folk.
