“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the earth”

Season signifies that which comes or arrives and in this general sense is synonymous with time. It is also a fit or suitable time; the convenient time, the usual or appointed time or anytime, as distinguished from others. Season can also be seen as a time of some continuance but not long.

Based on the above definition a scholar should be mindful of the fact that anytime lost can never be found again “yesterday is a cancelled cheque, tomorrow is a promissory, note, only today is cash at hand.” Therefore, he/she should make haste while the sun shines, do not squander time for that is the stuff life is made of.

A popular poem says “tick says the clock tick tick, what you have to do, do quick” oh what a world, most teenagers and students misuse there time because they believe that there is enough of it to be tossed about but little do they know that one can lose a thousand dollars and get it back, but lost time is gone forever. Many had ended at the motor parks today as touts and are mostly full of regrets but who can help? No one, because you cannot kill time without injuring eternity.

How time is mismanaged by students.

A) Being late to school: There is time for everything and a purpose for it, therefore you have to prepare and get to school on time. A late comer is punished for several hours while lessons are going on in the classroom. Some also deliberately avoid the morning devotion, not knowing this is part of their education.

B) Unprofitable delay after school hours: Many students stay back to play at the end of study period; some even follow their friends to their own homes to watch films/movies before going home each day. All these are wasted hours that go like little drop of water that make a mighty ocean.

C) Hanging around outside when lessons are going on: is another way of wasting the time of studies. Remember that this season will not be long out you need a total continuance to make it.

D) Procrastination: This is a very big thief of time, do not postpone anything that needed to be done at a particular time to the next time, for before you know it, all the time that should have been used will fly away.

WAYS STUDENTS CAN UTILIZE TIME WISELY
Someone has said “you will find out that restructuring your time and using it efficiently is itself a motivational aid. It will enable you to immediately get more done i.e. to be more successful”.
