You think you re a genius, show some skill.
I have been battling with some questions recently and I admit the questions below re really difficult to ME. I nid someone to help me with the solutions. Gurus oya ooooo.
1) The proportion of milk and water in three samples is 2:1, 3:2, and 5:3. A mixture comprising of equal quantities of all three samples is made. What is the proportion of milk and water in the mixture??
(a) 227:133 (b) 99:61 (c) 5:1 (d)2:1

2)A student finds the average of 10 positive integers. Each integer contains two digits. By mistake, the boy interchanges the digits of one number say BA for AB.due to this the average becomes 1.8 less than the previous one. What was the difference of the two digits A and B.
(a) 8 (b) 6 (c) 4 (d) 2

3) Joan started work 2 years ago. Her starting salary was half of Mike's salary at that time. Each year since then, Joan and mike have received a rise of 10% in their respective salary.what percentage(to the nearest percent) of Mike's current salary is Joan's current salary?
(a)45 (b)46 (c)48 (d)50.

Let the quantity taken = x
For the first sample (2:1; 2+1= 3)
". ". 2nd ". (3:2; 3+2= 5)

". ". 3rd. ". (5:3; 5+3 =cool

For the milk proportions,

2x/3, 3x/5, 5x/8
Taking fractions and adding them we have : 227x/120.

Repeat the same procedure for water proportions, we have: 133x/120
So milk and water proportion in mixture is 227x/120 ÷ 133x/120=227/133

Answer is A.

2. I laugh in mbaise

3. The answer is 50 since she originally received half of Mike's salary for a start and their salary increased at the same rate.

But since the question States to the nearest decimal, then #lipssealed

Question 1: good job.
Question 2: keep trying.
Question 3: show working. I guess its 50% Buh as mathematicians we show workings.

For number 3.

Let Peter salary be #1, 2 years ago, Janet was receiving 1/2 = 0.5, Peters was #1.

For a 10 % increment for both, we have :
Peter: 1× 10/100 = 0.1.
His salary then becomes 1.1, for the second year: 1.1× 10/ 100 = 0.11, his salary becomes 1.21.

For Joan, her salary was 0.5,
0.5×10/100 = 0.05, her salary then becomes = 0.55, for the second year, 0.55 × 10/100 = 0.055, salary then becomes 0.605

% becomes 0.605/ 1.21 × 100 =50%
