Arsenal are close to finalising terms with Nigerian teenage midfielder Kelechi Nwakali but have drawn up a list of targets for the summer.

Arsenal have £135m in the bank but Arsene Wenger is expected to get £70m to spend as he plans to recruit a brand new spine for his team ahead of what could be his final season at the club.

The Gunners boss wants a new centre back, holding midfielder and striker this summer, while some of his current squad will also be allowed to leave.

With scouts already briefed on their transfer plans, here Sportsmail assesses some of the targets on Wenger's wishlist.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - Borussia Dortmund - £60m

The Gabon international has been in sparkling form scoring 29 goals in 31 games. Arsene Wenger is a fan but the 26-year-old Dortmund striker says Spain is his preferred destination should he leave. That could yet put alternative targets Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski in Arsenal's path.
CHANCE: 2/5

Victor Wanyama - Southampton - £20m

Arsenal have watched the Kenya international several times, however, no approach has yet been made. Wanyama is ready to leave but the Emirates looks an unlikely destination. Arsenal have also checked on Borussia Monchengladbach's Havard Nordtveit, Granit Xhaka and Mahmoud Dahoud plus Vincent Koziello at Nice.
CHANCE: 1/5

Odion Ighalo - Watford - £20m

He has scored 14 goals in his Premier League debut season and Ighalo's all-action style has drawn admiring glances from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid who have put the 26-year-old on their shortlist. Arsenal remain to be convinced he is clinical enough but are interested.
CHANCE: 3/5

N'Golo Kante - Leicester - £20m

Unsung hero of Leicester's Premier League campaign but now a name on the list of all top clubs. A disciplined reader of the game, Kante is French born and there was a frustration at Arsenal, as with Riyad Mahrez, his merits weren't truly assessed in early scouting reports.
CHANCE: 3/5
