Coward is the most demeaning tag a soldier...A general of the army for that matter could carry.

Worse still from a prominent Yoruba family.

I could recall the story of Brigadier General Babafemi Ogundipe who rather than take over from Major General Ironsi, fled to England, and died soon after in England like a fowl. All for the fear of subordinates like T.Y Danjuma, Hassan Katsina, Shuwa, Murtala Muhammed and their likes from the North.

Soldiering is not a cup of tea. No matter the atmosphere of peace in your country at the time of enlisting in the force, bear in mind that it could rapidly deteriorate to a war situation. There and then, you will be frontally faced with the possibility of imminent death.

People who are thinking of using 'long leg' and/or using their prominent family names to get into NDA should ask themselves serious questions.

Sirlancelot:
It is a pity that this man has to suffer this alone. There is nothing he could during the attack last year.Boko Haram really planned the attack therein, and as such nothing he could do about it

He could've done a lot...

Destroy his armoury while retreating.. It's better destroyed than falling into the hands of the enemy..

But then Baga was supposed to be a fortress.. It was the focal point of the MNJTF which was under his command.. It's either he didn't fortify the barracks well enough or he grew complacent. Whichever way, the bucks ends at his table as far as Baga was concerned.

And I think demoting and reabsorbing him into the army is a worse punishment than outright dismissal..

Where were you when uncle GEJ was lamenting that Boko Haram had inflitriated every where. What would you do if you discover that high ranking officers are working for BH?

Reading comments and wondering why commentators on Nairaland celebrate the re-call of a COWARD to service.

What has the SILLY ARMY done for the families of those brave soldiers who stood, fought against their enemies and died in combat. The entitlements of most these officers has not been paid to the families of these deceased officers.

No one even posts their pictures on Nairaland because these are not senior officers

And someone is thanking the Army for recalling the COWARD

This is fair enough!

This same thieves that ordered his arrest are now being tried for arms money embezzlement and others.

Minimah, Badeh,Amosun, Ihejirika should all be recalled, deranked and discharged dishonorably. They are all a disgrace to the Military as a whole.

After that they should face a civil court!

God bless the Nigerian Army...

Good. After all a northern officer who deprived soldiers of weapons and welfare was silently reinstated into the army:

No doubt he was a wise soldier. After surveying the situation and realising that he was not well positioned in terms of logistics and quality ammunition, he took to his heels to save his precious life. In addition, he might probably be aware of the sabotage going on regarding the diversion of security money to other fraudulent uses by the National security officer.

Only fools see uncovered pit, and still confidently walk into it. Thank God he has finally regained his freedom.

Good enough! Kudos to Nigeria ARMY. Kudos Femi Falana. Enitan can now come out,be integrated and appeal his demotion with all reasonable facts at his disposal. This is how law and democracy works. Each case has its merits and demerits . This is not about North or south. Yoruba or Hausa. Christian or Muslim. Let the wailers cry for themselves. Up Nigeria Army! Up Nigeria ! Up democracy ! Long live Enitan! Long live Femi Falana! Long live Justice and Democracy!

Despite the so called revelation and the reported lack of equipment, why must the officer be demoted. several senior ranking officers have died in the course of this senseless war, yet nobody bothers about their family. The Children would now to bear the loss of their father. Please do no demote the Officer. Its not Fair.

He should be made an example of. People feel they can do whatever they like and get away with it in this country. His action was so embarrassing, the Nigerian army were ashamed to declare the extent of the loss. Loss both in human lives and military equipment, he must be severely dealt with.
