Before, say in the 80s , a victim could run into a police station. Dishevelled and distressed to report a rape incident.
The d.p.o would ask about the cases reported that day and the desk officer would say "one rape victim ran in to report a case".
He'd then go further and say, "what was her name?" and other relevant details.
Then he'll bark,"was the barger,i.e useless man arrested"?
Now,
his question would be
" what was the sx- was it a man or a woman or child or baby"?
After that he'll ask, "what was the sx of the offender: man woman or child"
if man or woman,
he'll narrow it down to young, middle or old.
Then he'll do some mental calculations :
"male and male equals gay rape"
"female and female equals lesbian rape"
"adult and child equals pedophilia"
"child and child equals child offense"
etc
(They'll probably be apps to do the computation with).

in the future his questions could be:
"what was the nature of the victim: human or animal"
then narrow further.

The world is advancing...
