CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE WHO TRUST IN THE LORD.........
Jeremiah 17:5-7

Trust simply means to have confidence in or a firm reliance on the integrity,ability etc of a person or thing. Trusting God means having faith that He knows what is best for your life and it is life's greatest spiritual secret.

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is" Jer. 17:7

Have you ever struggled and fretted because your life wasn't going the way you wanted?
You may feel disappointed,frustrated,even bitter. the secret of overcoming all these is trusting in the Lord.
The secret lies in putting this secret into practice~viewing events,sorrows,every prayer with unshakable conviction that God is totally,spotlessly trustworthy.

This secret lies within us, THE HOLY SPIRIT, not only will He convince you of the rightness of trusting in the Lord, He will help you do it because HOLY SPIRIT knows you better than you know yourself. When you trust in the Lord, you feel as if the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders, you transfer the pressure to God.

"Thus saith the Lord,cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm and whose heart departheth from the Lord" jeremiah 17:5

HERE IS THE HABBITS OF PEOPLE WHO TRUST IN THE LORD...............

¤ They accept suffering.............yes, they are ready to carry the cross with Christ not always after worldly prosperity and pleasure

¤ They accept the inevitability on earth.............they don't blame village witches,wicked uncles and enemies on inevitable situations that glorifies the Lord.

¤They think in terms of eternity not of calendar (ie their goal is not to maximize their time on earth but to get themselves and as many as possible to heaven.

¤They have daily appointments with God ie they set out time for God

¤In prayer, they listen more than they talk..............not always shouting "mamamamamamamamam" as if God is deaf and dumb

¤They limit distractions...........yes you can't always be concerned with world things like looking sexy, watching porn, and still concentrate on your God

¤They submit their discernment to others

¤They listen to true christians...............not all those self acclaimed prophets and "menofgods"

¤They offer the Lord their complete unhesitating obedience.

In Christianity, the word discernment may have several meanings. It can be used to describe the process of determining God's desire in a situation or for one's life or identifying the true nature of a thing such as discerning between good and evil. In large part, it describes the interior search for an answer to the question of one's vocation, namely, determining whether or not God is calling one to the married life, single life, consecrated life, ordained ministry or any other calling

This is what I'm trying to understand. You only explained what discernment is. Kindly shed light on why one has to allow others to determine their gifts.
