[i]There are numerous praise and worship songs with which God's name is exalted.
While I was in church today, one of those songs was rendered. Before we finished singing it, a thought occurred to me- some praise songs should not be sung by certain people.
Are you familiar with this song?
It's commonly sung in yoruba dialect.
The lyrics says;
If all the strands of hair on my head were to be tongues,
It wouldn't suffice in praising/glorifying God.
Original (in yoruba)
Bi gbo gbo Irun Ori mi je Kiki ahon,
Bi gbo gbo Irun Ori mi je Kiki ahon,
Kooto Kooto laati yin Baba logo,
Kooto Kooto laati yin Jesu logo,
Kooto oo!
Obviously, God's goodness, kindness, compassion, love...are numerous and nothing we do can amount to what he has done- not even if all the strands on our hair were tongues.
Where I get amused is when chronically, I mean chronically bald headed dudes sing the same song.
In the first place, how much hair have you got? Even dudes with afro know that their hair- if turned to tongues would not suffice in praising God, yours is too obvious.
My advice to you if you're bald-whenever the song is being sung, just hum or sing something else.
Peeps feel free to share songs that shouldn't be sung by...[/i]
Queen Valerie, hope he ain't bald?
