A clearer picture of why Fulani herdsmen invaded Agatu local government area of Benue state emerged, Friday, at a stakeholders meeting organised by the Inspector General Of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase, when the leader of the herdsmen in the besieged community, Ardo Boderi, claimed that over 10,000 cattle were allegedly killed by people of the area.

The meeting held in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, had in attendance top Benue State government functionaries, chiefs and stakeholders from Agatu and Fulani leaders in both Benue and Nasarawa state and  was presided over by the IGP.

Ado Boderi, who spoke on behalf of the Fulani community insisted that the act sparked off the crisis but decried the role being played by criminal elements from both sides which he claimed escalated the crisis. On his part, Akpa Iduh who spoke on behalf of the Agatu people, said the Fulani were bent on taking over Agatu land hence their resort to recruiting mercenaries to wipe out his people. He lamented that the crisis had escalated to a war situation where women, children and the elderly were killed indiscriminately by the invaders and urged the authorities to stop the carnage in Agatu land.

How on earth can you compare a human life with an animal, these fulani men will just gather their cows & start invading people's farms & destroying their crops, there is no justification for the innocent souls they have wasted. If this nonsense is not stopped, these nomadic men may soon turnout to be another militant group, it's well sad

These people should have a different continent with their cows. They're not human beings like others.

No wonder Buhari does not feel the suffering of the people because they are not cows.

That is no excuse. One thing I have come to realize about this Fulani herdsmen is the fact that they have no respect to their host communities. Just like the case in Barkin Ladi in Plateau State.

The mentality of average Foolanis men ;
1. The live of one cattle worth more than Ten human lives.
2. They own Nigeria and as such every other citizens remain their captives or slaves.
3. All Nigeria territorial land are their conquered territory and so they can graze anywhere.
With the above mentality, they ready to kill anybody anything that stand their knowing their ''own'' is in power and nothing will happen to them.
The fact is any peace broker with them is cosmetic and cannot last.
The way-out; don't harbour them, the host community should make security arrangement for themselves, this foolanis are arms with dangerous weapons and Charms, make security arrangements that can counter theirs, else we will continue to their victims.
Our security are compromised and are playing to the payer of the Piper's tone.

Apparently the Fulani herdsmen are above the law.No arrest up to this moment sets a precedence that nothing will happen to them when they kill and maim people unnecessarily. Ignorance shouldn't be an excuse for lawbreakers

Seriously has Lai Mohammed opened his college of Lying? Over 10,000 cattle heads killed? How many cattle head sef dey Benue, let alone Agatu?
Again there is something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria, there is more than meets the eyes on this fulani issue. A community is massacred and the next line of action of the IG is to call a stakeholders meeting, really?
What happened in Plateau is already happening in Benue, and they're doing it with such impunity not otherwise seen. That's what you get when you vote in an illiterate and hard-line islamist who spits on our sensibilities and calls our bluff. Till date Mr President is yet to condemn their attacks or even visit the community even by proxy. He would rather junket out and grant insensible interviews with foreign news media.......and when we talk, some clever-by-half Mods would try to play tin-gods in a faceless online forum. We're in this mess for the long run, Nigeria.

The fulani believe has always been that the life of a cattle is precious and much more important than the of their fellow human being.

undecided I BLAME THE SELFISH FARMERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY FOR THIS DESPERATE MOVE BY THE FG TO IMPORT GRASS. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STINGY WITH EVERYTHING? WHY CANT FARMERS AND COMMUNITIES ALLOW THE FULANI CATTLE HERDERS TO GRAZE THEIR CATTLE IN FARMS AND BUSHES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY? WE HAVE MASSIVE LAND MASS BUT STILL IMPORTING GRASS TO FEED COWS DUE TO FARMERS GREEDINESS. THE FULANIS ARE NOT BEEN TREATED FAIRLY IN THIS NATION BECAUSE NO OTHER TRIBE CAN REAR CATTLES IN LARGE QUANTITIES LIKE THEY DO TO FEED THE NATION. WE SERIOUSLY NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO THE FULANIS AND ALLOCATE SEVERAL HECTARES OF LAND TO THEM IN EVERY STATE OF THE FEDERATION undecided
