A heated debate between two Nigerian friends in far away Mumbai India has resulted in the death of one. This is the first time one of such incidents would be in the spotlight.

It is usually an argument among fans in football loving communities across the globe on who is the best, especially among the world’s top league players. One of such recent debate is on Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both play for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, there was a report from Nallasopara, a suburb in Mumbai that two young men engaged in a fight after a heated argument over who is the world’s best football player between Messi and Ronaldo, has resulted in the gruesome death of one. Obinna Michael Durumchukwu, the deceased, had his friends together in his rented flat in Nallasopara to celebrate his 34th birthday. In the course of the celebration accompanied with much buzz, an argument which ensued with one of his friend Michael Nwabu Chukwuma age 22, both of ‘Igbo’ descent from Nigeria, lead to a deadly attack from Nwabu. It was learnt from the police inspector, Kiran Kabadi that the fight which resulted from a football debate ended up with murder.
