A www.newshelm.com reader confirmed to us that a fight broke out betwwen Hausa traders and Yoruba traders at the mareket....

The fight broke out as a result of one Hausa man killed by thought yoruba men and the angry response of the Hausa people has lead to a major uproar and all bikes have vanished to major towns within the vicinity.

All rsidents of the area are advised to take alternative routes and avoid the Adelani Market Route as the Hausa people have threatened to kill any yoruba that comes in sight...

The killing of Christians in northern Nigeria has increased by 62% in just one year.

The 2016 World Watch List shows a staggering 62% increase in violent killings of Christians in northern Nigeria as churches in Nigeria unite to highlight this problem for the first time. A report to be released in Abuja by Open Doors and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), ‘Crushed but not defeated, the impact of persistent violence on the church in northern Nigeria’, makes a detailed study of the violence that has occurred.

A partner director for West Africa says: “This report shows that extent and impact of the persistent violence on the church in northern Nigeria is much more serious than previously expected. Once Boko Haram is defeated, the problem will not be solved. Christians living under Sharia law are facing discrimination and marginalization and have limited to no access to federal rights. We hope that this report will prompt the Nigerian government and international community to take the real suffering of persecuted Christians seriously and act on their behalf. Next to that, I hope that Nigerian Christians will become more involved with their brothers and sisters; that they will stand in the gap for them.”

The report looks at persecution from three main sources: Boko Haram, Muslim Fulani herdsmen and the Muslim religious and political elite that dominates government in northern Nigeria.

In 2015, there were 4,028 killings and 198 church attacks that Open Doors was able to record. The figures recorded for the previous year were 2,484 killings and 108 church attacks.

An estimated 30 million Christians in northern Nigeria form the largest minority in a mainly Muslim environment. They are at risk of violent persecution, as the report states: “For decades, Christians in the region have suffered marginalization and discrimination as well as targeted violence.”

more crimes are committed when criminals are justified with flimsy excuses. That is a lesson for the Yorubas for not handling the Lagos matter with wisdom.

Hausa/Fulani people need to calm down. Is Lagos troubles not enough for them?
Why are they pursuing Yoruba people everywhere? It's not fair. Somebody should remind them that Yoruba people are very hospitable and that shouldn't be taken for granted.

Have they not heard about OPC before? Are not aware that Oba Akiolu and his counterpart in ogun state can invoke the 'lagoon' on them?

Btw I heard the Igbos are discussing to appoint Hausa/Fulani security guys as security operatives at all their markets in Lagos. That isn't a very wise idea as mamaloja n iyaloja Tinubu might not be very pleased. OPC should warn them not to attempt such as they seem much more comfortable with iPads and iPods.

It's not true. OPC is ready for action and they have been mobilised to send the northerners back to their abodes using Dangote trucks.

I become apprehensive when we mislead people and create unrest with our post.

There's no ethnic clash of any sort. What happened was that the area was often disturbed by bandits in which the security (Hausa Man) posed serious threat to successfully carry out operation. He was killed to create hitch free attack according to residents.

For the influx of hausa men, they were deliberating on how to reinforce security measures as suggested by their chairman.

I hope this clear the air?
Have a blessed day ahead.

Jeebo lunatics as usual are on ground to display their lunacy.
There's how we Yorubas treat everyone's fcck up cos every tribe is unique.
We need northerners for our presidential bid anytime soon - something bitter ibos and minorities will try to frustrate albeit unsuccessfully.
Hausa/Fulani fccck up at this level wont go untreated.
We shall see.

You 're so funny

It's not funny. I don't like or support bullying. Hausa should leave Yoruba people alone.?its not fair.

You beat a man in Lagos, he runs away crying, takes refuge in ogun and environs and the Hausa mothaphukas are still chasing and harassing them. What kind of animals are Hausa/Fulani people?

Igbos should support Yorubas and condemn the Hausa marauders. If they finish Yoruba people, who would the Igbos be beefing?

Yorubas are peaceful people though boastful and Hausa/Fulani should not insults them by killing them in their lands. I believe this will awaken the consciousness of Yoruba to know that the people of south south and southeast are their true friends, neighbours, inlaws, good hosts and development partners.

U need not to tell them they themselves knw it. They are born hypocrites. Their ignorance and foolishness will kill them wat an igbo man sees while stooping a yourba man will not see it even if he climbs coco house. Still nodding my head in pity forr them.
