Sir George Martin (Beatles Record Producer) has died yesterday aged 90.

This was confirmed by Ringo Starr on his twitter handle (Ringo was a former drummer for the Beatles).

Sir George was the one behind the 25 worldwide hit songs success of the Beatles after signing then in 1962. He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music in 1950.

Sir George is regarded as one of the World's most successful record producers and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and also into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

He is also a six-time Grammy award winner. Sir George also worked with music greats like Sir Elton John, Bob Dylan, Shirley Bassey and Cilla Black, also wracking up more than 30 number 1's in UK and US single charts.
