I currently own a w203 c class and i want to upgrade to a w211 e500. I am however skeptical about SBC and airmatic. Has anybody worked on these two items? I would like to know the headache level (parts availability,cost of repair and frequency of breakdown). Thanks in adv.

Avoid 2002-2005/6 W211. Instead get the 2007/8 model which are the facelift models.
In the facelift models, Daimler eliminated the use of SBC system.

The airmatic in W211 is still quite expensive although, they dont easily go bad compared to Range Rover own air suspensions.

Thanks. I've heard of balancer/sprocket issues on the facelifted models (m272 and m273 engines) that can be quite expensive to repair. I just pray our mechanics can handle it when it happens (inevitable engine problem).
