After a week of no light, and after a week of sweating in the heat (and sometimes wondering about the change.... smiley)...the lights came back on here where i live at 7.15 pm.

Yaaaaay!

But.....still not happy....yet.

The fact is, the government says they can only get us up to 4000MW by the end of this weekend, and 5000MW later.Meanwhile, Nigeria needs 12000MW daily. If not even 20000MW daily.

And all this talk does not fix the elderly and dilapidated transmission system we have. And the fact that many of our power stations are still .....old .

My annoyance with this government is that they do not give us a step by step plan on how we would get light. For now...all we have are the two nuclear power stations(which are on the drawing board). That takes us up to 7400MW.....still 4600MW short.

In my opinion, what this government needs to do now is to tell us HOW they intend to fix the lights. At the same time, Nigerians too need to do their part. One big reason why PHCN was so rickety was because most Nigerians did not pay their bills.

Because.....Nigeria needs to diversify away from resource dependency.....and good power supply is just the means to that end.

Anyway, this is the early am rant with QT.

it's seasons(rainy/dry) that determines our electricity in this country.. as soon as the rain starts and there is increase in water level, the light will somehow be stable and some people will say FG is workingundecided which work are they the bringer of rain
