No doubt, President Muhamadu Buhari’s popularity is gradually dropping following the various challenges the nation is facing. The people had high hopes and expectations from the Buhari administration and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). They believed in the APC’s ‘Change’ mantra and were very optimistic things were going to get better. Immediately after Buhari was sworn in May 29, Nigerians were happy with the improvement in power supply and they attributed it to the body language of Buhari. Anybody who tried to criticise the president was referred to as the ‘wailing wailers’. Ten months down the line, the people who were chanting ‘Sai Buhari’ have made a U-turn and are now losing hope in the ability of the president to save the country. This could be as a result of fuel scarcity, poor power supply, the fall in the value of the naira, among other issues. Below are reasons why President Buhari is currently losing his popularity among Nigerians.

1. His frequent foreign trips: Buhari has traveled to more than 20 countries since he was sworn in and he has been given the name ‘Wakawaka Buhari’. Some called him the ‘Junketer-In-Chief’.

2. Persistent fuel scarcity: The people have been complaining about the difficulty in getting petrol. Black marketers are taking advantage of the non-availability of the product and the long queues at the petrol stations to sell at exorbitant prices.

5. Buhari’s double speak: When he visited Saudi Arabia, the president told the Saudi King that Nigeria would not be a part of the Islamic Coalition against terrorism, only to turn around and say the country is a member during an interview conducted in Qatar with Al-Jazeera.

Lame. This travel excuse is at the best Lame. Buhari's foreign trips has, among others, greatly reduce the incidence of fleeing BH member using Cameroun, Niger, and Chad as a safe heaven from military onslaught and in planning attack. Also he has to heal the wound in our relationship with countries like Morrocco whose King was technically insulted under the ineffectuals. Even with the above stated reasons travelling under OBJ was far more than this. So Buhari is on the right track and the Majority who voted him are still behind him and even growing in size.

You already justified the fuel scarcity when you admimt that the Fuel is in the black market. It is only being hoarded by opposition loyalist who have over time grown used to having billion of easy oil profit and loots. It may take time for Buhari, Kemi, Kachikwu to purge such a system, but i guaranty you it won't go for even up to four years the past President admitted is not enough for him.
With this in mind, Buhari is on the right track and the Majority who voted him are still behind him and shall continue growing in size.

Given the history of power supply apparatus vandalism that wont go away anytime soon, Buhari may incure the wrath of few not-so-understanding citizens. Majority understand power isn't flower as regards Fashola being the minister, but the Buhari has shown that he is capable of getting results out of more criminally-minded 'technocrats'. Power will surely improve and So Buhari is on the right track and the Majority who voted him are still behind him and will still grow in size.

The economy isn't Buhari fault and Many people out there know and are still discovering the economy is, atleast 88%, in their hands and the state governments' hands. As oil earning keeps reducing the state are suppose to come out with aggresive innitiatives to boost exports and earn dollar to help support forex and pay tax, but they only good at phantom projects from oil allocation and increasing recurrent expense to help boost looting margin. Good example is Fashola and Uduaghan. One awarded borehole, website and flower project out at over 1500% their regular cost and the other used signboard to siphon billions of Naira via IPP and airport. So u have a system with no investment and control. If at $108pb the borders are porous, no investments were made and 70% of earning went into salaries and recurrent bills then at $38pb Nigerians understand are and ready to wait 100 years for Buhari. Buhari has performed for even paying salary.

If you need dollars go earn it. The FG is virtually the only one earning dollars has been giving it out at controlled rate since. With the FG's Dollar source running low it has to chose whether to pay its workers, serve 170 million people or to import toothpick and help foreign students pay school fees and live large. The masses understand this and aren't bitter about Buhari's choice.

War against corruption will always look like witch-hunt. The opposition was in power and naturally will account for 95% of catchable looters. Don't forget Tinubu experience under GEJ.

Buhari is definitely not on the right track, and majority of the people that voted for him have already realized their mistakes and are gradually withdrawing from him. Why did APC witness mind shocking defeat in the just concluded rerun elections in the Benue South Senatorial District and in other places in the country? Why has the fight against corruption chasing only those from the opposition political parties? Lastly, I voted for him thinking he was going to be free and fair as far as the governance of this country is concerned, but to my greatest surprise PMB has proved me wrong by been selective in his crude decision making. It took Buhari few hours to attack the Biafra agitators and even kill some of them in the process, but the same Buhari has allowed his brothers- the Fulani Herds men to continue to attack the helpless farmers and go about with their arms and other dangerous weapons without any body questioning him. Hundreds of people are killed in Agatu and other local government areas of Benue State which is the food basket of the nation, the local people have been driven away from their farm lands and are now in refugee camps and Buhari is doing nothing. Buhari is a mistake to this nation. MR. MAN can you ask yourself 'Why did Buhari wasted no time in sending security forces against the Biafran agitators, but it has taken him more than 9 months to send the same military might against his anointed terrorist- the Fulani Herdsmen who have killed and caused more damage to the country than the MASSOB?
