Broke Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are willing to pay a new foreign coach $50,000 a month, which is double what former coaches Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh were paid. The NFF have already been sounding out several candidates for the top coaching post. Former Cote d’Ivoire and Zambia coach Herve Renard and Uganda coach Micho have already been approached in the last few weeks. And former Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen is the latest to be contacted by the NFF, according to top sources. Le Guen has been without a job since November when he was sacked by Oman. NFF president Amaju Pinnick has declared Oliseh will be the last local man to lead the Super Eagles and has made it clear an expatriate should pilot the Eagles after the temporary deal handed Samson Siasia. Siasia is expected to revert to his post as the country’s Olympic team after the AFCON qualifiers against Egypt. The country's coaches association have already dared Pinnick on his move to hire a foreign coach for the Eagles. http://mtnfootball.com/news/618903/REVEALED-New-Nigeria-foreign-coach-to-earn-50000-a-month |

Former French international and Olympique Lyon coach Paul Le Guen is leading the race to become the next Super Eagles job, Completesportsnigeria.com understands. Claude Leroy and an unnamed Scottish coach are also reportedly jostling for the plum job which erstwhile coach Sunday Oliseh resigned from a month ago. Le Guen who was sacked as Oman's head coach after the side lost 2-1 to Turkmenistan on Nov. 17 last year, has reportedly agreed in principle, with the NFF, to lead Super Eagles and has also requested former skipper of the Super Eagles Austin Jay- Jay Okocha to be his first assistant on the job. Le Guen who was also booted out at Scottish side, Rangers Completesportsnigeria.com, gathered will earn about $50,000 a month which is double of what Oliseh earned as coach. Olympic team coach, Samson Siasia is currently in charge of the Super Eagles on an interim basis for the double header against Egypt later this month.

This guy called Amaju seems to be high on some cheap substance, is it the foreign coach that will play d football matches for us or our players. This was hw he turned down every advice given him & went ahead to hire an egomaniac Oliseh to disorganize our team, what a waste of money.. 29 Likes 2 Shares |

Ok if he can deliver. The fact is that we need a very experienced foreign coach now. Westerhoff/Bonfree Joe remains the best coaches the Super Eagles ever had. |

$50k isn't too much by most standards. The issue lies in finding someone worth the amount, someone who would add value to the team. Whether foreign or local, all that we need is improvement. Enough of all the father Christmas. |

Claude Leroy is the bestan for the job. He has enough experience about African football and footballers and he wont lack skillful players . He will make much positive impact with our talented players |

a foreign coach is the only solution to Nigeria's coaching woes. The tribal influences in NFF is way too much. |

How many times have we changed managers in the last few years to no avail. I believe a change in coach is in order and the appointment of Oliseh was a mistake, but we also need to look at other issues that are plaguing our national team. 1. The need for our local coaches to get better qualifications and experience. Many, if not most, national teams are managed by ex-players or coaches from their country/league. They seem to understand the terrain better 2. The need to improve our local league so that we can source good players from there. It's not everytime we depend on foreign players. 3. Also, banish the age cheating phenomenon that has plagued our national teams at the youth level. That is why we hardly see any of our national team members last at the top or stay competitive in fifa competitions. 4. And most importantly, there's too much indiscipline in our national team. Just because you play for a foreign side and earn thousands of dollars doesn't give you the right to misbehave in Nigerian camp and matches. We need to use only patriotic, disciplined, and hungry players. Many countries drop big names from their squad due to indiscipline. 4 Likes |

Who are we to blame but Sunday Oliseh. He was given the chance and he made mokery of that position. But if NFF are to look for foreign coach, why select among Africans knowing there are other alternative in Europe or even South America.Come to think of it,did they pay our local coaches 50gs dollars a month or is high salary exclusive to expatriates. |

This is how we destroy our economy. All the countries with strong economy pay everyone in their local currency. Na so our FX reserve go finish. Arsene Wenger is a French Man, Did Arsenal pay him in Euro or GBP or Dollar? He's paid in GBP because he works in UK. Even coaches within Europe were paid in Euro, not $ This is a clear example of loop-holes within our system, if we are serious about future of this country that coach need to be paid in Naira. 12 Likes |
