I believe there is a lot this government needs to learn on plus and minus of the economy instead of all this guess work.
The vice president is heading the economy team but lacks the basic education to do so. Nothing bad in talking him through a 3months crash cause on the subject.
I remember Ban Ki Moon was a medical person, and when the challenges come, he humbled himself to learn about world economy and world politics. This aids his decision making and adequate understanding when professionals are making their assertions.

But pride is wicked master, he will not allow our leaders do what's right to better their chances in decision making for effective governance.
Let this people trim down on all this cosmetic approach and mouth style of leadership and face the reality. They need economy education.

The same criminal that said "No one's political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian" but spent the money that was meant for security of the country on his political campaign and was busy dancing campaigning around as boko arams were killing innocent people. Olisa, why not give your advice to GEJ and Okonjo who miss manage our economy, importing fuel for years without proper plan to stop, wasting our foreign exchange on importation.

Agree shame under 10 months , what of PDP for 16 good years. Please what do we call that, with Oil boom, no new refinery, no electricity even foreign reserved, Algeria $155 billion, Nigeria $29. Please what can we call PDP my brother.

This is the kind of criticism we need. Point out the problems, make comparisons and proffer solutions.

China is where they are because everyone supports the government. There should be nothing like the President is PDP so his cabinet should be PDP members. There should be a good mix. Not 'yes men' who would be afraid to critique any wrong move made by the Presidency.

I have mentioned this option of removing restrictions on the sale of FX by the CBN. The lower the supply, the higher the price.

It is absurd to just go cold turkey over import when Nigeria as a country imports just about everything.

Measures should be put in place.
1. More local manufacturers should be encouraged financially and with incentives.
2. Companies should be encouraged to source for their raw materials locally.
3. Imports should still be opened while local manufacturing is gaining foothold on the economy.

Gradually, the level of import will decline as it will be cheaper and make economic sense for businesses to source for materials locally instead of importing with higher costs.

Inspite of all the economic grammar which the elite are used, the common sense point is this, can someone continue to pour water in leaking drum and expect the drum to ever get filled?
If you don't block the leakage home even the water already leaks and the fresh water you pour leaks as well. But blocking the leaks allows the water you pour in to be retained while keeping the fresh one you add to increase.
If our resources leakage are not stopped as Jonathan allowed, our earnings from other sources will also be drained shikena!

People like Agbakoba are small minded Few Nigerians who do not see this recession or what he calls a blessing from God given us another opportunity to see from within rather see from outside.
Ireland had a bad recession along side spain, greece etc but there persevered and looked inwards and where are they today? they have bounced back up simply because they refuse toll the path of hopelessness.
I read the papers today and for once i was very impressed with the bold steps companies like diageo and pel beverages owned by Linud Kotey have taken in sourcing inwards on packaging materials and raw products.
This is the way to go, it pure common sense.
I give u an instance as human beings you find out people hardly can think outside the box in the presenc eof so much but when this abundance is taken away such human beings are forced to resort to their thinking and come up with brilliant ideas inorder to take them from theor present predicament.
As the saying goes curiosity is the mother of all inventions.

I read through it. He said Buhari government is practising what is called Strict Monetarism which is restricting the economy since it is halting the fluidity of the economy. This has led to the country sliding into recession since we've recorded negative growth within two quarters of a fiscal year. I'm sure Buhari don't understand all the economic terms used here (since he didn't even pass simple O'Level Economics). I'm sure you don't too tongue.
