I dont flaunt because i am reserved and shy but i dont mind when someone does who doesnt enjoy seeing another person private life on social media we all love beautiful things, luxury this nigerian guy in some facebook group loves showing off his cars, businesses etc and the yoruba guys got jealous very useless if u ask me |

Yorubas believe so much in spiritual attack. Dey believe showing off wealth exposes u to ur enemies hu can tamper with one's destiny. So naturaly dey dnt like pple hu show off wealth. |

They are not the only ones that hate it. Fulanis, Hausa, Zarma, etc. etc. don't like it when people flaunt your wealth. These cultures teach people humility, flaunting is a sign of boasting which shows a bad character. If you have something, don't show it off. A Fulani man never tells another Fulani man how much cattle he has, or how much money he may have. A Hausa man doesn't talk about the kind of house or cars he has, etc. etc. I am guessing Yorubas are the same. These cultures teach one the act of humility. Above poster summed it up. There is something called tact which we observe but at the same time we give you a medium to display your opulence when we throw owambe. But displaying avarice on a daily basis is frowned upon. 1 Like |
