Green and White

Have u ever wished the suffering could be gone?
All these taking and killing in the country
Religious sects throwing bombs like parties
School children turned to sex slaves and sold off
Pump prices getting high like weed

I love the green and white
So i will say a prayer of redemption
I just wish the government say amen to this
Militants exchanging bullets with soldiers
While the exchange rates explodes like bomb shells
Killing the economy and leaving citizens to mourn
The cries of the helpless and hungry
Falling on deaf ears of careless politicians

Democracy so faint like
White chalk on white boards
Tired of waiting for the green day
Days gone by on my knees in prayer
The land is now green but
The harvest aint ready
Cuz corruption ruined it all
Officials laundering money many times
More than I do my laundery
Lawmakers taking bribes
And turning blind eyes to child-brides

There are more rigged elections
Than state owned oil rigs
I hate breaking it to you all
This is the truth unrefined
Like gallons of stolen crude from
Broken oil pipelines
Tired of broken promises made at campaigns
All these propaganda of what is good for the goose
Is also good for the gander
Only to abandon the people like loose ends
Once the seat of power is obtained at end point

Some lines of advice to you all
Arise O compatriots
And make our country great again
Just like our heroes past
We are gonna do it for the green and white.
