Former Minister of Education during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration and foremost activist, Oby Ezekwesili has expressed her disappointment on the Nigerian Senate for rejecting the Gender Equality Bill which sought to empower women across the country and ensure that they are accorded equal opportunities in the society

The former minister took to twitter expressed her disappointment in the Senate for the rejection of the bill because it largely contradicts the Sharia law which is a part of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.
