1. The Phonograph The next time you listen to a favorite album, you can thank Thomas Edison for discovering the secret to recording sound. August 12, 1877 is the date popularly given for Thomas Edison's completion of the model for the first phonograph. In 1878, Edison brought a prototype of the phonograph to the white house where it was played for hours, The people gathered at the White House were so excited by this marvelous machine that they stayed on and on, not leaving until the middle of the night! pic 1: Thomas A. 3. The film camera The very first patented film camera was designed in England by Frenchman Louis Le Princein 1888. He built and patented an earlier 16 lens camera in 1887 at his workshop in Leeds. He is known today as the real grand daddy of motion pictures His camera still exists with the national Media museum in Bradford.

4. The World Wide Web(WWW) The World Wide Web was invented by English scientist Tim Berners-Lee in in1989 at the of 34. He wrote the first web browser in 1990 while employed at CERN in Switzerland. It has become known simply as the Web. The World Wide Web was central to the development of the information Age and is the primary tool billions of people use to interact on the Internet

5. The Electronic Television Philo Farnsworth, born August 19, 1906 invented the very first electronic television at the age of 22. Phil always had a dream which he shared with his girlfriend who encouraged him to make it happen. He traveled to California to discuss his idea with two businessmen, who gave him $6,000 and one year to build a first model. After a few failed attempts and various other investors phil finally made a TV set that worked. He gathered a group in his san Francisco office, turned on the TV and broadcast the very first image – his girlfriend, who had since become his wife. thanks to him, we have TV. 1 Like

6. The personal computer In a very real sense, Jobs invented personal computing in 1976 when he, along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne launched Apple Computer. Or at least he defined what personal computing was all about: the user experience, rather than the computing experience. And to think that he managed to do all of this from a company that often struggled with profitability and market share is inspiring.

Cray, born september 28 1925 left the Navy to form the first of four companies in 1957 at the age of 32 – Control Data Corp. Here he built the world’s first fully transistor-based computer, the CDC 1604. His invention shook the world beyond doubts

8. The air modern conditioner Who hasn't sung the praises of air conditioning on a hot sunny day? well, who else do we have to thank for this if not Willis Haviland Carrier an American engineer credited with inventing the first modern air conditioner.

9. Automated Teller Machine (ATM) The automated was invented in 1968 by John Shepherd-Barron, who originally intended them to have pins that were 6 digits long. His wife could only remember 4 digits at a time so, that became the standard.
