Honourable collegue,let's pray that today's meeting on the new minimum wage should go through and that the governors should bring in their own input today to the minimum wage. There are rumor in some quarters that the governors have refused to give their own figure on what the new minimum wage should be. The meeting is for today 4th and tomorrow 5th September 2018,it was to hold on the week the Muslim did their celebration and this will be the last meeting.

Most Rivers state civil servants, most especially teachers in both UBE AND PPSB that constitute up to half percent of Rivers state civil servant, I have discussed with so far were all angry with Mr Governor and getting ready to cast their vote against him, on the note that since ten years now no promotion, some that entered since last five years no promotion too.

These teachers has direct contact with upcoming youths, some which are at their 18th birthday, whom are qualified to register and cast their vote, but due to negligence at the side of government to teachers, instead of discouraging political apathy, they will ended up encouraging it, because government is not showing concern toward them.

Most complained about increase in their responsibilities as a bread winners of their family, still in the same salaries scale for more than a decade, with more children, and children changing from one level of education to higher one, with children universities tuition fees on their head.

Still, they witness deduction on their paid salaries, economy on the negative side. Most civil servants (teachers especially) believed that promotion would have solved most of these economy challenges, and increase in responsibilities challenges, but it's not forthcoming.

Anyone close to governor should advice him to seek the support of civil servants ( teachers mostly, as they are badly neglected) , by giving all of them as matter of urgency their long over due double promotion to get their support during election.

Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers on Tuesday assured civil servants of his government’s readiness to pay their promotion areas.

Speaking at an interactive forum with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Wike said the government had not paid arrears due funds constraints.

The state government has not promoted workers or paid annual increments for the past three years.

The state government has also not paid the promotion arrears of workers promoted by the former administration.

The government has been criticized for announcing openings for employment into the Neighborhood Watch Scheme while it claims it lacks funds for workers’ welfare.

Although, the governor did not categorically promise conducting promotion or pay incremental, he promised to pay those already promoted.

‘’We couldn’t pay because we had no money, but let me promise that something will be done.

‘’My stand is that promotions must be properly done, and the financial implications considered,’’ he said.

Wike said that it was wrong for government autonomous institutions such as universities to promote workers without consultations while someone else paid the salaries.

“Consultations must be made to ensure clarity and standard,’’ he said.

Humanly, no news yet, but spiritually, there are a lot of positive news, that she is alive, and under God great protection, and those holding her are in serious confusion, and will soon bring her back to me. As the refund is hitting the state account, let the state equal send the money to hit our account, via February/ March 2016 arrears and 2015 March arrear salaries/ December 2017 salary.

who resumption epp?If not for the sake of these little ones we educate,who cares about such dates?It is wickedness for someone to work for you and you refuse to pay the labourer his wage.Be real to yourselves,who wants to die a teacher in Rivers state?Once I tell anyone I am a teacher,they begin to look down on me.It's shameful and hurts badly.

A dedicated teacher cannot asked such question. That question should not be answer. Anyway how far for the (science)teachers workshop,training or seminar?

How can you say as teacher who goes to work every working day during term, starts and ends the term, without knowing when school is resuming?
