Jonathan could win elections, but he was nowhere near as effective at building, maintaining and expanding a political machine. Many of us Nigerians complain about how our universites are bad, and so forth, yet when fee increases are proposed to make our universites much better,you all oppose it and say that we can fund world class universities that would be like Harvard, and Oxford and Cambridge, when one of those three spends more than we spend on education in a year, and charges fees that are very high.

You can't get world class on fees that are less than 2000 dollars a session. Scratch that 1000 dollars a session. Impossicant. That is why our universites cannot afford world class facilites, and so forth, and have been unable to for decades...because you won't pay the fees or the taxes to make them able to do so. And y'all can't afford loans of up to 15-30 million naira just for uni education.

IN the UK, average UK student pays 9000-12000 pounds sterling per session. Aand before you shout minnimum wage, that is way above what many UK citizens earn, so many of them borrow money. (And university education used to be free o! till the 1990's. They even used to pay students in uni a stipend self). That is how their universites can afford world class.

And since your universities are being paid scanty fees, and get scanty funding, they can';t compete...so the rich nigerians, the corrupt government officials and so forth go abroad Even some poor nigerians self scrape some money and send their kids abroad, because they know they would get valu for money.

(Though some government officials keep their children in Nigeria. All of Ngige's kids graduated from government university. Even though he could afford foreign education for them, lol).
