For the avoidance of doubt, the phrase "may Nigeria never happen to you" is not new and has been a part of Nigerian parlance for close to a decade now. So it didn't start with this present regime.
The truth is that when patriotic Nigerians travel abroad, they become very angry and irritated with the situation of things back home. But when unpatriotic Nigerians travel abroad, they fall in love with the status quo in their home country where they can easily evade taxes, disregard the rule of law and get away with impunity.
Ask yourself why our politicians have most of their family members schooling and living abroad. They seek healthcare abroad without trying to replicate it in their home country.
