Truly the cost governance in this country is high. Something urgent need to be done to curtain it. Also the continues gap between the rich and the poor is alarming. There's no longer middle class again. All these are signs of retrogression.
Some uninformed people will come here and tell us that we are not paying enough taxes. They want our taxes to spend on frivolities in the name of administrative costs.

We don't earn up to 100 billion dollars in oil revenue. We also have a debt of above 150 trn naira and growing..and it has to be paid or IMF will show us shege like they did Argentina when they defaulted on their debt twice. And all our annual budgets are the monies we have before stealing and corruption happens.

Our economic basis is sell oil and hope the money is enough, which 100% of the time it isn't..meaning more loans. Tax revenue is basically the formal class paying..the rich and the majority of the poor and those in informal sector do not even pay. VAT can only fund a fifth of the budget, on a good day. The corruption then comes in and makes a worse matter hellish.

Either we change the economic paradigm or we accept we are poor and stop trying to build castles in the sky with limited money.
I understand you but I also want you to know you cant clear the bills of a drunkard when he is still in the pub. He has to come out of the pub first so I can actually know how much drinks he has taken before you can now clear his debts.
Nigeria has low revenue generation and high expenditure. For low revenue generation, the quantity of crude oil that is exported illegally is not far behind the quantity that is used to benchmark our national budget. Every money meant for turnaround maintenance of our refineries to ramp up production ends up in private pockets. Our solid minerals are being mined by politicians and their foreign allies. Even if we tax the air Nigerians breath, we will end up having more powerful individuals than a thriving economy cos the system is designed to achieve that. Asides debt servicing (which is a consequence of low revenue), administrative overhead and personnel costs are so high for a government who acknowledge that there is a revenue problem. The budget itself is filled with padding and unnecessary allocations that end up in private pockets. Governments prefer to build new infrastructure than to maintain existing ones (if u have held any executive position before u will agree with me that executing new projects na where the chopping money dey). We need to tackle fiscal rascality before our revenue problem else it will amount to pouring water in a basket.

NIgerians will demand high quality and when you tell them the cost, they would shout minimum wage, or whatever.

It's like, most people on minimum wage send their kids to government schools, where the waec fees are paid for them by the state government anyway.

Plus, I don't support tinubu, tinubu na bad leader, no argument, but the cost of running WAEC exams is not going to remain static year in and out. Let's be honest.

Infact, the number of children writing WAEC is going to keep growing and growing. And where is the money going to be found? When we have a big monster of 150 trillion debt and less than 60 trillion naira budget, with an education budget at 2-3 trillion? When universities in 2009 needed something like 1.5 trillion for adequate funding? IN 2009!

Also, free education, see people shouting free education up and down. Countries with free education pay for the education in taxes. Not like Nigeria where tax revenue was not able to fund up to one fifth of our budget...

Oh and about that...Providing free, fully funded education (including tuition, meals, uniforms, and books) for all of Nigeria's ~40-50 million students is estimated to cost between ₦15 trillion to ₦25 trillion annually.Awa budget was 54 trillion this year.

And as for oil, we produce the same amount of oil as Libya. Yet LIbya has 5 million people, we got 200 million people and counting.

At the end, tinubu is a bad leader , like all our past leaders, because we are not a nation whose budget is based on manufactured goods and services and a tax system that would fund our budget appreicably.

Look, I am going to vote out tinubu, You should too.....but the fact is, the revenue for our budget, even with borrowing , is scanty. Subsidy removal only released some more scanty money. It did not improve our overall revenue, and we still have a hefty debt.

If Nigeria wanted to pay everybody's WAEC fees, pay minumum wage of 600000 naira monthly, pay for free education, free petrol and free electricity, it is either we got a buget of 600 trillion naira now, or we support our government in raising taxes and making some hard choices now.

Abusing me, and calling me agbadoe, does not change the fact. WE ARE A POOR NATION, and the matter be that tinubu is not doing enough to raise enough funds for the budget that would meet our needs. THAT IS WHY HE IS A FAILURE. If you no get that, sorry. Many of you want your government to borrow and borrow to fund your free things life. That is why things have gotten worse since independence. We are running an economy based on selling things whose prices we no set, and as a result we end up with scanty budget that needs buffering with borrowing, and then the leaders we have come and steal on top of the matter.

WAEC better tell Nigerians that in the next ten years we are still going to be doing paper examinations instead of CBT because nigerians are too poor to afford improvements. cheesy
Comrade I strongly believe that their will be enough money in this country if we can plug at least 50% of leakages and corruption. Any sane Nigerian can make huge sacrifices for Nigeria to progress. However, there is no will to do that due to the corrupt government. Imagine a father telling the children to manage just lunch everyday cos of hardship, but goes out every evening to buy chicken and beer for his friends. That kind of father doesn't deserve my respect

If he said this about other regions, you will not be reasoning like this.
There are many issues like this in Nigeria on daily basis and you people always believe them as long as it paints others in bad light.
But the moment that bad news is about you people, then you start to use your logical sense, asking for evidence.
Start doing the same when it about other people from other regions too then we might start to take you people seriously. Until then, all we see is HYPOCRISY.
You people? There is no correlation between what I said and the epistle you wrote here. Please take this your response to you people, I don't operate in that niche. Thanks

He tried to enlighten you in 2023 but you insisted on knocking yourself out. Whatever he says now won't make any meaning to you. The removal of fuel subsidy is a case in point. If I give tonto dike and Hilda barci ten cups of rice each with all the ingredients needed to make jollof rice, we definitely won't get similar results. Everyone can formulate policies, implementation is what differentiates the best from the rest. The GCFR's body language rubs off on those who drive these policies.
I remember back in October 1986 during a Supreme Military Council meeting when a visibly frustrated Babangida publicly challenged the then Inspector-General of Police, by asking, "My friend, where is Anini?". Anini was arrested in December 3 1986.

It must also interest you to know that they are not up to 10 persons in total. However, each person has about 10 monikers, that's the main reason they sound the same

Unless you want to call majority of Nigerians obedients cos the attacks were massive, even from those that want to disparage MOGs to convert Christians to atheism or islam.

Generalising dissenting voices as "obedients" is an argument for the emotionally insecure, not the intellectually serious.
PoliticsRe: Prophet Elijah Bamidele Slams Peter Obi, Says Nigerians Will Apologise To Tinubu by 2tpick: 5:48pm On Jun 30
Let's look at this prophecy with an analtyical mind.
Did the people who pushed Jonathan away admit it was a mistake? The answer is No. They said it's their turn.
The same Nigerians who said NO to those who pushed Jonathan away (they have been proven to be on the right side of history) are still the ones saying that president Tinubu shouldn't stay more than four years in office (those ones are the true patriots).

Biodun1929:
That's the part that was really off in what he said.

What I'm getting from this is...he has spoken personally with Tinubu and knows what we don't know, that probably some northern big dogs are behind this heightened insecurity in the country. But Tinubu can't act cos he needs northern votes. So, in the end, to me, Tinubu is not doing enough.
Herein lies the problem. A good leader puts the interest of the majority first before any selfish and parochial reasons. That is the reason why posterity will be kinder to GEJ than PBAT. People in the north are displaced becos of terrorism but he wants to appease the northern big dogs who probably live in Abuja and their state capitals instead of millions of northerners littered in IDP camps. God help us
PoliticsRe: Insecurity: ‘he’s Done His Bit,’ Adeboye Defends Tinubu by 2tpick: 3:27pm On Jun 30
According to him, he advised the president to give military commanders a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorism or resign.

Same way sane Nigerians have given the commander in chief of the armed forces a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate insecurity or resign.
Infact, Tinubu has failed to command the armed forces well so he must give way come.2027 since he has refused to resign.
