He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree of Business Administration (DBA) by Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto during the convocation ceremony of the school.

Spotted at the event were the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his wife Olori Wurola and the current governor of Lagos State, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode.
