Jumia and konga are fun and easy to use - all their representatives are trained to guarantee best-in-class and personalized customer service delivery. This helps in building loyalty for every registered merchant while encouraging referrals and strong reviews.

so if you are not selling on this platform yet i would advice you do so. if you have any question do comment on the post. also if you dont have a jumia or konga store for your business yet i will advice you to create one today. thou only merchants who are in lagos vcan succesfully utilise them but company like http://mukabox.com.ng can help you with warehousing and delivering your order to jumia and konga hub in lagos while you go on with your order business or even if you are not in lagos or in nigeria.

yes of course in this state of the economy is the best time to sell on this eComerce site. you dont need to import before you can sell on them. i know a lot of people and myself that sell made in Nigeria products on this eCommerce site and its bringing in alot of profit in a shorter time than if product are sold in shop offline.

Selling on this 2 major site is the best thing if you can't afford to have your own website in place. The reason is that you get traffic that would have cost you more money for free.

You will also need not worry about logistic since they will do the logistic for you and http://mukabox.com.ng can help you dropoff at the hub if busy or not in lagos.

They will as well handle pakaging for you as well as accounting since u only need to sit back and watch your money comes in weekly to your bank account. Just today we expecting a payment of 275000 from jumia alone for the sales during the previous week.

They make your product trusted as against selling on your own personal website where u will still have to struggle to build a brand before people will give you their trust

Infact there are lots of benefit I woundt mention here

I can agree with the OP posit on selling on Konga but Jumia to me its NO NO!!. Alot of returns, poor customer/merchant service. No direct contact between buyer and seller. I mean no phone contact. Returned products MUST be collected at their Head Officer at Ikeja. It takes Jumia team almost a week or more to respond to merchants issues.. Jumia commission is double if not tripple of Konga commission. Delivery on jumia is as slow as snail.

I advise new sellers to start with Konga as their services are more clear and seamless compared to Jumia.

Jumia sucks.

I totally relate to all you have said. I have abandoned my jumia store cause of the many issues. They still owe me some money for over 2 months now. for starters, use kaymu and konga.

Jumia is a terrible place to sell. Even if you have issues and visit their Head Office, they will treat you like a leper. No courtesy. I have turned off my store on Jumia.

Jumia sucks.

Ofcourse you might think that way, but do you know that compared to konga jumia chances of sales are 10 times higher than konga.

Moreso there are no ecomerce without return, even konga do get lots of returns.one reason I will attribute to the return is lack of proper pakaging, late processing of order and sometime mistake by merchant. Even thou customers do have a share of this attimes.

Moreso jumia have improved greatly and their response is now as fast as ever if you use the appropriate reporting page not using their complaint email. There is a special form for reporting different issue. I have noticed that response is faster when the form is used than when you send via email. They even recommended you use the reporting form.

Yea jumia comission might be high but the higherst is 25% and that isint a big deal because you can always include that in ur price. Even thou konga comission is less their shipping is just too high while jumia have the lowest shipping rate in nigeria which most times contribute to sales.

As for the direct contact, I think its best kept that way so as to protect their brand, they do the customer communication for you.

Yes return picked at the warehouse, but it seem likeits more organised while it is at the warehouse. Jumia handle more product than konga so they need to minimize spending to the bearest minimum I think

So the reasons you give are not good enough for anyone not to sell on jumia

At the moment non lagosian can't sell on jumia but they can sell on konga but that can be stressfull attime . But that doesn't mean you can't sell on both if you want to.

Company like http://mukabox.com.ng can help you make things easier by helping you warehouse your product and dropoff at konga or jumia hub anytime you have order and request them to ship. Very easy to use.

Diction of a Jumia representative. Tell your paymaster Jumia to improve on all I listed. Carry out a survey from merchants and see the result. Merchants are complaining bitterly. Go and check well, Jumia is going down gradually in terms of merchant base. There operations is way too awkward. In our last meeting of Young Entrepreneurs, almost all merchants complained about Jumia's operations.

Its not a must to sell on Jumia though but as a virtual store, Jumia must rise up to occasion. a

By the way there is nothing like paymaster. You should learn to respect people opinion. I am a merchant on jumia and not even related to anyone there or work there. My purpose of this post is not to write negativity about any platform but to let people know why they nEed to sell on them and you have stated jumia have some issues which I know is true but I have choosen to look at the positive side of things. Even thou all this you say are true they are not in anyway affecting my revenue target so I don't see any reason why I should descourage others from selling with them just because of their shortcoming. And also I have seen improvement with them and the more reason I have refuse to point them negatively.

Please every business have their own trying times and its not bad if they keep trying improving on it.

So I don't see why those who wish to sell with them should not

Hmmmm, sir this problem is not only with jumia, they are improving and there is no reason you should abandone your store. Even konga get lots of complaint. Almost majority of the seller complain of remittance delay as well as delivery and return.

And for your information kaymu is a subsidiary of jumia and they also have their own issue. None of them is perfect.

Don't allow anyone discourage you. The more product you sell on jumia the better your chance of low return.

I am a merchant like you as well

Hmmm, mayb thou but that is not a reason not to sell on them. You need to have your own account manager to talk to all the time. If you do there will be no reason to go to the head office except for pakaging.

I have an acc manager and she resolve issue for me very fast

Not proper to discourage others not to try something just because you think such thing has an issue. It might be an issue to you but not to others.

That's why there is no reason anyone should not sell on jumia and konga
Re: Reasons You Should Start Selling On Jumia And Konga Today by MukaboxNG: 7:30pm On May 21, 2016
we are in the season of massive sales, let no one discourage you atall. only those who dont try things suffer. by the way least i forget, PMS is now 145 per liter.that is the government legally stealing your money.

The revenues generated during this notice period are still subject to the partnership agreement. The right to immediate termination by either party for important cause remains unaffected.
(2) The right to immediate termination in particular covers the case where the merchant repeatedly receives negative ratings and reviews on the website, and when these are not obviously unjustified. Repeatedly providing misleading information or withholding information required to present the merchant's items is also grounds for immediate termination. Typos, mistakes and transmission errors are excluded from this, as long as they are not caused with intent or by gross negligence.

11 General
(1) If a single clause in this agreement is invalid, both parties will endeavor to replace the invalid clause by a valid one that reproduces as closely as possible the intended economic meaning of the invalid clause. The validity of the rest of the agreement remains unaffected. This applies in particular if the agreement is found to be incomplete.
(2) Jumia reserves the right to modify his general terms and conditions without giving any justification. In that case, Jumia will give the merchant adequate notice via email. The notice will contain advice on the right and period of objection to the changes, and on the consequences of leaving unexercised the right to object.
(3) The changed terms and conditions are considered agreed by the merchant if he does not object to them in writing within 2 weeks of receiving notice of the changes.
(4) Any terms and conditions of the merchant are not part of this agreement unless Jumia expressly agrees to adhere to them in writing.
