There is tension in Kogi state following the arrest of Funsho Olumoko, former chairman of Ijumu local government area of the state. Vanguard reports that police apprehended Olumoko in his Ekinrin Adde residence at about 1.30am on Tuesday, March 22, and took him to an unknown destination. Heavily armed police officers were said to have come in four Hilux vans, used a ladder to climb the fence, smashed the doors of the residence, broke into the ceilings and eventually took Olumoko.

Yesterday, March 21, Olumoko who is described as brother of James Faleke, the running mate to late Abubakar Audu in the 2015 Kogi governorship election, addressed a press conference. Speaking on behalf of the community, he strongly criticized Governor Yahaya Bello for trying to repaint and rename the primary health centre built in the community by the federal government in 2007 as a new project to be commissioned by the governor’s wife on Tuesday.

THE PROPOSED VISIT OF ALH. YAHAYA BELLO OR HIS WIFE TO EKINRIN-ADDE COMMUNITY: A FRAUD AND AN AFFRONT
MARCH 21, 2016
By Hon.Cornelius Olowo

On behalf of the good people of Ekinrin-Adde Community in Ijumu L.G.A, Kogi State, we wish to call the attention of the public and security agencies to the rumoured or proposed visit of Alh. Yahaya Bello or his wife to our community which is considered inappropriate at this point in time and under whatsoever guise, we see it as an affront on the senistivity of our people and a test of our solidarity and support for our son, His Excellency in waiting, Hon.
James Abiodun Faleke, whose mandate Alh. Yahaya Bello currently, illegally, temporarily and fraudulently holds.

We also wish to furhter state as follows:-
That there is no justification for whatsoever visit by Alh. Yahaya Bello or his wife to our community for now, in view of the circumstances surronding the mandate which he presently holds, the status of our son. Hon. J.A Faleke in the last governorship election as the percieved rightful owner of the governorship mandate, and consequently the likely security implication of such a
visit to Hon. Faleke’s home town under the prevaling circumstances.

That the idea of the visit was fraudulently conceived to find an excuse by Alh. Yahaya Bello to rub insult on the injury inflicted on us as a community by the day-light robbery of the mandate freely given to Audu/Faleke joint ticket of which our son, Hon. J.A. Faleke is the only living rightful custodian of that mandate.

That the Health Centre, which we gather rumoursly that Alh. Yahaya Bello or his wife intends to come and commision on the proposed visit was constructed with a collaborative effort of the Federal and Ijumu Local Governments in 2007 during the tenure of Prof. Eyitayo
Lambo as the Honourable Minister of Health, the project was comissioned in 2008 by Hon. Owotogbe, the then Executive chairman of Ijumu L.G.A and since then, the structure has been in use.
Primary Health Centre fall under the management of the Local Government, we are therefore suprised that a so-called governor will descend so low as to repaint an 8 years’ old Health Centre rename it a “Model Health Centre”, set aside a whole day and move the entire state apparatus all the way from Lokoja to Ekinrin-Adde to re-commission a project intended to spite Hon. Abiodun Faleke and his people.

We consider this action extremely absurd, inordinate and misconceived to achieve the unnecessary.
That we are not aware of any project or construction works that Alh. Yahaya Bello has undertaken anywhere across the length and breadth of Kogi State since his illegal inauguration as the interim governor on 27th January, 2016.
The only landmark activity that is known to be a priority to the present administration has been demolitions, demolitions and more demolitions.

Alh. Yahaya Bello has also not officially visited any community within Kogi State, why then must he start with Ekinirn-Adde, and on flimsy reasons? Finally, we wish to state that the political and security atmosphere in Ekinirn-Adde is presently not conducive for any visit by Alh.Yahaya Bello or his wife as the pains of such adventure will surely outweight the gains.

As a community, we remain very resolute on our support and solidarity for our son, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, in his bid to recover his stolen mandate using the judicial machinery, no matter how long it lasts, we shall remain steadfast and law abiding, but not
in the face of brazen and deliberate provocation, particularly by the sole beneficiary of the electoral fraud and robbery committed by a collaboration of INEC and National leaders of APC.
ON FALEKE MANDATE WE STAND Thank you.

How are we sure that they are real policemen and not common lawless criminals in police uniforms.
The case should better be reported at the appropriate quarters before in repairable havoc is done. And is it the right of the police to climbed somebody's fence with a ladder in the wee hours of the night instead of laying ambush for their target and wait till early morning?
Our honourable IG can explain better.
Alh. Yaya Bello himself should tread softly, softly oo.... Because that post sure has a lifespan considering the fact that he is just a supplementary governor.
