The sun is our most important source of renewable energy. But unfortunately, we haven’t really gotten around to finding a cheap and reliable way of converting that energy into enough electricity for all of us. However, Britain says it has the perfect solution for that.

The country has just finished building a floating solar farm, the first of its kind in Europe. The gigantic facility floats on a reservoir southwest of London. There are more than 23,000 solar panels floating on top of the water here, covering an area the size of eight football pitches.
