As the clock ticked for the Inspector General of police Mike Okiro to exit office following his retirement on july 24,2009,the Federal government set up a committee some months back to screen candidates for the post of the IG.During the screening process,there were various conspiracies,mudsling,bad blood & suspicions among the contenders especially from those of northern extraction.Although it was believed generally that Yaradua may have appointed Onovo because of his seniority over other contenders & to break the jinx by appointing him as the first pure igbo man to become the IG.But no,it was a game plan considering the fact that the northerners who were initially unhappy with the appointment of an Igbo man over an hausa were excited when they learnt that the postion of the comptroller General of Nigerian custom currently held by Bernard Shaw Nwadialo will become vacant by next month which will definitely be given to hausa man.Customs to them is seen as lucrative appointment than the police since it will enable Yaradua to compensate the likes of Dangote & others in importation & exportation business.The igbos should not consider the appointment as a gold because it is a well rehearsed $ calculated strategy indeed by Yaradua, Will an Igbo man & man get the appointment of comptroller general of customs,nigerians are waiting, Yaradua follow due process in custom too

Please, Can you explain which one is pure igbo. You have failed to understand the concept of being igbo. Get your facts straight before you post.

@Radiovibe, Don't mind me,no offence was meant.But let me remind that Nigeria is where everything can happen.Political propaganda everywhere.Okiro who hails from enugu state was discarded as a south-easterner due to his affiliation with the south-south region(river state)
