President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Federal Government was not considering the release of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody.

The president said that Dasuki, has multiple cases in court, which he must diligently face and resolve.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, told New Telegraph yesterday in Abuja, that the issues on the shoulders of the former NSA were all complicated.

In response to claims that Buhari does not respect court orders and continues to keep Dasuki in detention, the presidential spokesman said, “the ex-NSA’s problem is not with President Buhari who I must say has the highest regard for the rule of law.”

Garba pointed out that Buhari remained the best friend of the rule of law and due process the country has so far seen.

“If five courts of the land are trying different cases in which a man is involved and one or two of those courts let the accused persons go home on bail, what happens with the other three cases?

“If you are a prisons controller, will you set that person free when you have three other judges directing that he be kept in detention?

“Colonel Dasuki faces a multiplicity of cases and, sadly for him, his hand appears to be showing in more of the cases as recent revelations from the ongoing investigation in the Office of the NSA has shown,” he added.

Don't be surprised that after all this media drama, Dasuki walks free.

Fair enough.

Here is a man who claimed to be sick and needed urgent medical attention about five months ago. Since his arrest and no Medical attention, why has he not died in custody?

Had the govt allowed him travel, he will surely NEVER step his feet on Nigerian soil till after Buhari's presidency. He will even try to bring down the govt from outside with stolen billions of dollars in his possession.

Kudos to PMB on fight against corruption.

Vendetta mission by Buhari.

Whatever it is, I am in full support. Kudos to the Judiciary, kudos to PMB.

When Buhari leaves, he should also suffer the same fate if there are evidences against him.

Garba Shehu is not fooling anybody. Initially, all the judges granted Dasuki bail, but the FG refused to release him home. The judges then read Buhari's body language and subsequent attempts at bail were denied.
The judges are also human beings. They have houses, have children and watch news daily. They have seen Buhari's anger at those granting bail for Dasuki or Kanu. What do you want them to do? Of course, they will fall in line and start denying bail even if all conditions are met

Rather than continually file for bail, why not face the charges, clear your name and be set free

Why take him to court when you have decided he would remain in detention? The answer is simple, hypocrisy and dictatorship.

No matter what anybody says about this excuse, I think everyone would agree that the presidency have stated a very good and watertight reason, backed by law too...

Now the looters can feel the other side of the same law that granted them immunity, injunctions and stayed proceedings!
