Good.
But it took the intervention of the house of reps member representing the federal constituency, Hon Goodluck N. Opia, to get Arab contractors to do the needful.

The work was stalled because a member of the community (Umuapu) took the company to court over compensation on his land. And this was the reason the road was stalled and many cars were damaged because of greed of one person. The Hon member who just came to power, visited the site and had series of meetings with the contractor and the man and even the former Hon. Member representing the LGA (hon Luke Chukwu, whose house was near the other person.). After long stories, I guess they agreed to continue working but bypassed the house of the man who took them to court. For those who pass the road, you'll see a compound that was left.

What I am yet to read from anyone which shows how hypocritical people are is Buhari, if tribalistic as made out to be, could have abandoned this road, but did he?

This road is about completed, serious ongoing work on the PH-Enugu Road and yet people will say they are from the 5%? If na so I want to be from that 5%.

Isn't it a shame that a GEJ 'supposedly' awarded, which actually he didn't, a road not more than 100km in 2011 and as at 2015 when he left, it wasn't completed? But now the new government is about finishing it and it is GEJ? So how come he wasn't able to complete the East-West Road which was awarded by Obasanjo and leads to his home state in 5 years?

Una get serious mental problem!!!

How does that inspire some propaganda? This is a road that should have being built since years for the good people of Ohaji, but the irresponsible IMSG abandoned it for years and was castigating Orubebe and Jonathan?? Now you want us to start clapping for him and then shower praises on Buhari for completing Jonathan's project with 2015 budget? You shot yourself on the foot, crass propagandist.

No need for all of you to start fighting or hauling insult on each other cos the money used for the construction is our collective wealth so no need for this pls..............lets pray they all do the right at all time

When you blame Buhari for the lack/suspension of construction projects in the entire 2015, you conveniently did not remember we have been running on Jonathan's budget till date. Threads have been opened on this site asking what the projects of Buhari are besides helipad but you conveniently forget that it was Jonathan's budget. Now a long abandoned road project appears to have been resumed in 2016 and you suddenly remember that 2016 budget hasn't been passed?

By the way, what do you mean by IMSG abandoning the building of a federal road?... IS this supposed to be a lame attempt at 'blame game'?
Goat, the village connecting road... Isn't that a state road?

The wise saying, appreciate a man for work well done and he will do more but some Igbo sentimentalise even when they see the good job done they will be seeing APC candidate as outcast, after they will say they are been marginalised when you refused to put your house in order

1. Can you please tell us which budget implementation led to it? 2015 or 2016??
2. Tell us the specific roles played by your incomprehensibly irresponsible IMO state government on that road...
Till then, we'll take you as shameless glory hunter.
budget or no budget , , the work has been completed, after all it only requires strong political wil for budgets to be implemented! Its all over the news that your Ogogoro drinking native doctor is a weakling.

After all the noise the Igbo traders have abandoned the so called biafra Nnamdi kalu and went back to their various shops, showing the true colour of themselves on how they love money more than themselves. By the time he comes out he will learn how to behave in a circular society like ours

GEJ awarded the road and it was built in 2016?... By the way, it was even Yaradua who first awarded the contract for that road. But all through Yaradua's time and all through GEJ's 5 years, commuters have suffered horribly on the road and now it suddenly is GEJ's award when the road is built in late 2015/2016?.... I suppose the internal city roads which serves as a detour was also built by your Jona right?

How could humans deceive themselves so badly like this?... What sort of evil deceit is this?

Very soon the Onitsha-Enugu road would be fixed and someone would also claim that GEJ awarded the contract. So also the PH-Enugu road, someone would also claim GEJ awarded the contract and therefore it is GEJ's road. Tufiakwa!

1. Owerri-Omanelu Federal highway was awarded in March 2010 at the cost of 21 billion, I guess your Yar Adua was in power then.Over the years, that road has suffered from underfunding because of the quest to fund the East West road under the Same ministry.
2. Two sections of Enugu-PH expressway was awarded in August 2013 to Setraco and Arab contractors for 124 billion, while the remaining sections(3&4), where awarded to CCCECC and the CGC in late 2014.
3. Enugu to Amansea was awarded in Dec 2014 @ 24 billion, to RCC after the termination of the previous contract to CCC and Niger Cat.

So dear (fool), these are Jonathan's projects which Buhari should do well to complete(If he likes).

Fast foward to March 2016 and you will appreciate the gains of change. It is now virtually a smooth ride from Port Harcourt to Owerri with a mere 200 metres of little shake at Imo/Rivers boundary. Even the interior village Roads of Umuapu are not left out as almost all the connecting roads which were hitherto earth roads have now been tarred and marked. Both the State and FG have given those who ply that route a cause to smile after 4 years of horror.
you are terrible liar, the federal part has been under construction way before your change.

Whoever came up with this deception is aim at deceit, the usual Apc antics.I am a regular user of that road when plying portharcourt to owerri.GEJ awarded the contract of that road construction
Rochas has no hand in the construction of any part of that road. The work on that road started before 2015 election, that was aim at wooing the south east to vote for GeJ.The road construction was done in parts. The construction started from the concord axis of owerri and got halted at Ohaji almost after the imo state polytechnic. The other axis of the road was under demolition of few houses for expansion of that road.THe only governor that contributed a little to that road construction was Rotimi Amechi of Rivers State. He constructed the Elele axis down to some kilometres before umuapu. So stop giving Gej project to Apc government. This was one of the Gej project in the south east,Buhari refused to review.Another Gej project is the Umuahia road of portharcourt,Aba,enuguroad.
What nonsense are talking about, road that was awarded by niger delta ministry during yaradua administration during the time Amaechi was constructing rivers state axis of the road, Amaechi completed and commissioned rivers axis but niger delta ministry refuse to pay the contractor leading to abandoning of the road since 2011, the place you mentioned has been like that since 2011 and you here talking what you don't know. The little work they did last year was for political reason as the left immediately after election, what is happening now is as the result of the federal government asking the contractor to return to site.

First of all, I see no reason why you must throw insults such as 'goat' and 'fool' when you want to pass a simple message. It speaks volumes of your personality and you would be banned if you persist.

Regarding your comment, you claim a road project was awarded as far back as 2010, but for 5 solid years, users of the road have been going through hell. You quote beautiful figures as contract awards for these projects but nothing was on ground for 5 years to reflect your beautiful figures. My friend, just in case you are new to Nigeria, it is not all about announcing and publishing on paper that x-y-z amount has been awarded for a project, if that was the case then OBJ and his military predecessors should take all glory for all the roads built in the last 17 years because contracts were also awarded for most of these same roads under OBJ. As a thoroughbred Nigerian who understands the double-speak of dubious politicians, what matters most is if the physical cash was actually released to contractors for the projects and if the project was actually executed.

As far as common sense is concerned, your Jonathan spent 5 jolly years enjoying unprecedented oil income but he left the federal roads in the SE to deteriorate to their most horrible state.

Its not about arguments and media battke but about reality. Between 2012 and 2015 people suffered untold hardship on that road. The alternative which runs through interior of Umuapu was equally bad with community boys mounting road blocks and obtaining from motorists. The Imo State Government has constructed those interior village roads which most motorists now use with attendant increased commercial activities.

The Op did not say IMSG built the main federal road. Rather, the internal city roads which are presently being used as a detour to by-pass the bad spots have recently been built by the IMSG (as shown in the pictures).

I anticipated this claim even when y'all heaped every blame on that road to Rochas Okorocha. I wrote then that it was abandoned because of Okorocha's political stand and that if power changes hands work would resume on that road. Today I am happy being vindicated. I guess if Buhari constructs 2nd Niger bridge you will equally attribute it to the ineffectual buffoon. Ride on sir.

Finally Umuapu internal village roads as shown below were constructed by Rochas Okorocha led Imo Government. Work started there late 2015 and it was completed last month. It is now used as alternative route to avoid the bad part of Port Harcourt/Owerri expressway.

Whoever that is publishing this trash should take it easy.

Has anyone cared to ask why the road was built from PH and ended at the Imo section?

Today one Abagworo or whatever is telling us another cook and bull story.

Rivers state paid their counterpart funding in full while Imo never completed theirs. Ohakim started the road, Rochas came on board and refused to pay his own [IMO] part thus Rives end is done while Imo end is what it is.

At least as a journalist I covered one of the visits by NDDC concerning that road.

Just last week, you heard the finance minister say on tv that priority projects meant to be resuscitated with the N350bn stimulus were the Lagos-Ibadan road and the 2nd Niger bridge. But yet you still choose to fly along with a story from a sensational tabloid?... Na wa! http://www.punchng.com/n350bn-package-lagos-ibadan-expressway-2nd-niger-bridge-to-benefit/

By the way, according to the link you posted, work was suspended due to lack of funding. Buhari only just got his first budget passed last week and his finance minister has announced same time that priority funds would immediately be made available for the bridge project. For the records, the suspended work has nothing to do with Buhari.
