This incidence has made me start wondering if theoadera are m0rons. In a bid to stupidly "save" cost of making use of two vehicles they overloaded a single truck now look at the enormous collateral damage it has caused:
1.Possible compromose of strenght integrity of the bridge because of the force of trying to pass through or even withdraw having seen the impossibility of making it through.
2. The cost of unloading the goods at the spot and reloading to a different truck
3. The avoidable traffic jam caused by the truck and the inconvenience to other road users.
3. Of course hiring another truck on emergency would sharply increase the oral cost of haulage as well as the workforce of the labourers.
5. There's every possiblilitu that law enforcement officials like LASTMA, Police and even roads safety typically wouldn't allow the man go free abi they come look bridge for lagos.
It's loss and more loss

And the impact on the roads already under pressure...

Overload Yeye trailer drivers!
Movic, that's the trend in the northern Nigerian states.
The worst case to see is that of a trailer fully loaded with sugarcane.
The scene is so fearful.

Some people can be dense eh, you see something like this and still stand on the brigde just over the truck to see what happens.
Its a clear indication say them de follow those people from village.

This truck got stcked under ikeja along bridge this morning.

See pictures below

Drabeey

Its only fair to slam who ever is responsible for the truck with a hefty fine that they will not forget in a hurry. This is crazy! How are we sure that this same truck has not damaged electricity or telephone lines along its way before getting to this point. Honestly, we (Nigerians) are our own biggest enemy- how can a sane human being load this truck to that limit.....
Re: Truck Stuck Under Ikeja Bridge This Morning (pics) by Originalsly: 2:56pm On Apr 01, 2016
Avoidable....1.Any overpass especially on a major roadway should have maximum height clearance and the height posted...maybe 5M....and a by-pass road for special cases. This wouldn't be considered special case....just plain overloading....didn't they know they had to pass su h spots?...I wouldn't be quick to blame the driver. ..almost sure he did explain...but his boss knows best. 2. Were the road officials on strike?...they should've pulled over the truck before it came to this. I guess the driver had his doubts....it's not as bad as it seems.

It amazes me how long it will take for the Nigeria govt to get it right. Federal roads like that should have vehicle clearance height...which should be enforced by FRSC...

That vehicle should be impounded at sight even before this. Right now in my state in the US, there is a restriction on even smaller trailer than this before next month.

All bridges should have clearance heights boldly printed for all incoming vehicle to read...why are there no such in Lagos. I remember how in Ikeja, there used to be no one way signs...and the cops will hide for offenders to arrest. It's appalling.

Please, for the safety of all road users, let's get it right.
