PDP Wants Tinubu Rearrested Over Money Laundering Allegations by ckmayoca: 3:08pm On Apr 03, 2016
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos state chapter, has charged the Code of Conduct Bureau to immediately arrest and prosecute Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state and National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is just as the party has also accused the president of manifesting selective fight and prosecution in his anti-corruption crusade.

The party’s call is consequent upon the disclosure by the CCB lawyer, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) that the former governor, Tinubu, was erroneously discharged by the CCT in the Trial of holding 10 foreign accounts contrary to section 7 of the CCB & Tribunal Act, Cap 15 LFN, 2004 as amended.

Jacobs made the disclosure in his opposition to the application by Senate President, Saraki, that he be discharged. He described Tinubu’s discharge as wrong and that the tribunal was misled into discharging the former governor.

Lawyer to Saraki, Kanu Agabi (SAN) had applied for Saraki’s discharge on the basis that he was also not invited before he was charged by the CCB, which is similar to Tinubu’s fact of case. They wondered why Tinubu was discharged whereas Saraki continues to be prosecuted even when the surrounding facts are similar.

“We demand the immediate invitation, arrest and prosecution of Tinubu for violating the laws of the land and breaching public trust by operating several foreign accounts during his tenure as Lagos state governor between 1999 and 2007. During this period, the state did not witness meaningful developments commensurate to its internally generated revenues and federal government allocations. We strongly believe that those foreign accounts were used to steal Lagos funds”.

Thwarted logic, twisted reasoning and miscarriage of 'acquittal concept' by bunch of losers that call themselves opposition.
Opposition that lacks objectivity in its perceptions cannot make head way, moreso what stop the PDP from digging deep into the law then to prosecute Tinubu.

The concept of auterifus acqitti auterifus convitti which states that a man cannot be convicted for same offence he was once acquitted will not support their furtile claim.

Were they in a vegetative coma during his CCT issues?

I stand with Buhari because:
-He inherited about 5,ooo megawatts of power from the previous administration but just 10 months after assuming office, power has dropped drastically and hovers around 2,000 megawatts while darkness has risen sharply in geometric progression up to 10,000 megawatts. Rather than measure power, we now measure darkness in megawatts, no thanks to Buhari, APC and their “change” agenda......LMAO!!!
-No president has ever seen the naira fall so helplessly like it is doing right under Mr President. At N325/$1 and with the possibilities of further slide, our economy is surely growing stronger! Sai Baba!
-Since he came to power, all the elections conducted have been inconclusive. Our president is so ingenious that we shall be having reruns of reruns..... Hahahaha
-Under him, food prices have gone up, jobs have been lost in droves, the judiciary is intimidated and harassed, citizens’ rights are arbitrarily abridged and abused outright, dissenting voices are hounded, innocent and defenceless citizens are mowed down by security agents especially as it was in the case of IPOB members at Aba and Shiite Muslims at Zaria; Fulani herdsmen have become audacious in their wiping off of communities and occupying such without resistance or challenge by security agents.

Yea Mo ...I followed the case keenly n it was obvious PDP was just wasting time n lying. if they have fresh evidences let them sue Tinubu but to if Saraki thinks throwing Tinubu's name around would save him, we shall see.

Bobo Chicago? Jagaban, Pdp would have been able to do so wen they were in power for 16yrs, but they failed to do so, I doubt if General Mohammedu Buhari would have such powers to do just dat, considering the role the Jagaban played, during the electionary period.

Double jeopardy means what? It's incredible how jaundiced characters like you always try to be clever by half in matters concerning Tnubu and the APC.

Does it not matter to you that justice has not been done in the matter? Is justice not the ultimate goal of jurisprudence? Why use stupid technicalities to gloss over a weighty issue like this that shows Tnubu who is a leader of your fake change party APC is most likely a criminal that escaped justice due to errors of omission or commission?

1. Is the PDP now EFCC? Why should the PDP dig up facts to incriminate your frog father?

2. Legal precedence is what saraki's lawyers are asking the judge to consider in dismissing the case against their client siting Tinubu's discharge by the same CCT.Have you bothered to ask why the useless judge in his ruling not issued a bench warrant for Tinubu and also can a judge overturn the ruling of his peers in the same court level?

The judge can not decide which precedence to be followed as the discharge of Tinubu was done by his peers and not a lower court.

The justice hence can not overule an application that was applied in the same CCT by his own peers.

Next thing we will see is magistrates challenging Supreme Court rulings.

Tinubu was merely discharged on technicality and never aquited of any charges.

As things stand now Tinubu can face trial for the same offense as he never stood trial in the first place

Those illiterates quoting double jeopardy have no concept of what it entails

Was Tinubu discharged and aquitted of all charges before the CCT or merely discharged for lack of proper investigation and arraignment process by the EFCC?
