I Saw This On Facebook And It Was Making Sense by darcon1: 11:06pm On Apr 03, 2016 |
Football fandom is senseless in itself... Futbol fandom is senseless. Especially wen u r from a part of d globe where ur beloved club dat commands ur admiratn, support, adulatn & obeisance does not reside. Wen passed tru d crucible of reasoning, logic & learning, d very idea of an individual witout financial, family or basic survival ties to a corporatn, sharing in d joy & pain of dat gigantic corporatn can't be justified. It simply makes no sense. I am an FC Barcelona supporter. Having been a follower 4 nigh on 15yrs. I have known d glory days wen we sat at d pinnacle of European futbol wt every of our move bathing sporting gold. Den l hav followed as we were thrashed by Bayern Munich & eliminated from d UEFA champions league disgracefully. Barely a yr later, we came bak to winning silverwares again & so d cycle of joy & pain has hit a positive patch. I have devoted a quarter of my lifetime basking in d victories, hurting in d defeats, contesting heated arguments abt d finer points of d beautiful game. Tactical philosophies, angles of attack, defensive 4matns, game mgt, zonal marking, player transfers, managerial vacancies, injury mgt, rival intelligence, late winners, bullet headers, xtra-time winners & mercurial talents. All diz 4 what? I luk wt envy as my acquatancies who do not share my love 4 futbol walk on by. Dey r spared dis world of adrenaline & pain, spending dia days in non- sporting bliss & delegating dia expendable energy to hedonistic pursuits. Dey r d true voices of reasoning, & dey neva fail to point out d fooly of our ways. I neva admit dis, & find new ways to arrogantly ignore dem,but dey r right. Futbol fandom makes no sense. I have seen pple lie awake at night, after a loss by dia team crying dia hrts away, & choking on dia tears. Also have l known many to celebrate wt abandon cos a game was favourably decided. Diz hav happened to me. But den d dedicatn gets darker. Pple lose dia lives to futbol. Fans hav been known to commit mass murder & countless crimes over dia affiliatn to a club. Odas hav found creative way to hurt pple who do not follow dia ways. How abt futbol terror campaigns? Dey exist also in little pockets of humanity. Dis makes no sense. If nothing, it is akin to d bloodshed & gruesome misdemeanours of d fanatical religious faithful, who ascribes wrongdoings to a higher being. In dis case who do it for a sport. Futbol clubs aren't known to be huge admirers of dia fans. Dey dnt actively get involved in d lives of dia teeming adoring numbers. U dnt matter to Barca,Arsenal,Chelsea,Man U,Real Madrid or any oda club. U r simply good business, a lone negligible statistic in dia empire of sporting entertainment business. Dey only want ur money. So y do we do diz? Y throw ourselves to diz sportsmen & dia parent club? Y hate on a man cos he loves d ideology of a futboling business structure? Are we incapable of critical thought? Are d facts of dis matter not clear to us? Of course dey are. Fans knw diz basic truth too. We understand dat futbol is senseless in itself, but we do it cos it makes d wait btw now & our deaths more fun. |
