NLC should declare strike until fuel is found in our filling stations at the rate civil servants can afford.

Ah, beware the voice of the mob. As much as we seek a marked improvement in the nation's economic woes we must be careful not to speak in unison for pointless action.
It is a far too common failing especially when things have taken a dire turn, when people see little to hope for, when disillusion, and disenchantment take hold, for people----with their backs firmly pitched against the wall--- to rally around a cause, to forcefully push for action, any action that offers a semblance of hope, that promises respite from the severe whiplash they endure, regardless of how pointless and unrealistic the intended action is.
It seems that people care so much more about the intended action, whatever it is, than about whether it is action or solution that will work, or that is useful, or that is not altogether pointless, or that will not flat out worsen things.
People want action, they want to raise dust, they want to appear to do something, they want a false and many times misleading sense of control, of power, of taking charge of their lives that comes from action, any kind of action.
Perhaps they are right, and we should be entirely understanding, but it is easy to forget that the best thing to do sometimes, the best action to take sometimes is to do nothing.
That is right: keeping still get things done too and raising dust doesn't always. ( Yes raising dust doesn't mean real work is being done-----------for what is worth you might end up worsening things.)
The nigerian economic outlook is dim, no doubt. The NLC intends a strike. Reading through the comments in this thread it is obvious people want a strike too. Now I am no zombie, no APC supporter, but it is evident to me that a strike action--------if the nlc carrries on with it-----is pointless and serves no purpose. The history of industrial action in this country is plain for all to see, its relative failures and successes, no need to elaborate on it, but is it frankly speaking what we need now? If we go this path, what does the NlC remotely hope to achieve with it?
I trust we want the best for our country, I trust we want this government to succeed and steer us clear to safe economic shores, we should know that compounding its concerns and distracting it with a pointless strike is no way to go.
The NLC and Nigerians by extension should take care to let the government work in peace without the pointlessness of a strike action.
I say this as a nonpartisan and concerned citizen: in this charged economic times we must beware the voice of the mob.

Do we still have something called NLC in Nigeria? Please they should spare me the crap about strike, they are just toothless bulldogs. They should not worry afterall the wailing wailers (in Adesina's voice) are doing it for them.
Sometimes I wonder what those in authorities take the rest of us for, they sleep and wake up and feel they need to say something to make the masses start arguments, God. Pass all of you, so please, they should leave us alone, we have been surviving through our sweat and strenght without them. If the government think punishing it's citizens is the answer to change so be it.
Must NLC always be threatening without actions, if they are alive, they wake up one morning and declare nationwide strike afterall that is what government do too, they implement policies without consultations, so you too do so without much talking. God bless Nigeria.

When is the date for the proposed strike?

Strike has now been reduced to one day or 8 hours, NLC has gone into hiding or mute mode. This is not good for the system and am very sure if it was GEJ, you would gone on nothing less than one week warning strike since, but because it is Buhari, it is one day. I can bet with everyone here that NLC will not go any strike, even 1hr.

Maybe the NLC leadership have something to do with corruption, reason for the grave silent from them since.

NLC is fake in Nigeria. The Oyo State NLC enter agreement with Ajimobi not strike till end of his tenure in office , but now workers in the state are suffering because of their agreement.

The one day strike is necessary so that we can queue for fuel & buy for generator as well.
We can also make the strike one day a week till government yield to our demand.
They brought useless bill of N39,400 even with their less than 6hours a day, useless govt headed by incompetent Fashola.
