Hey guys, it’s time to put all those worrying to a stop and start learning why men sometimes fail to get erections. It may not be easy for you to always get in the mood, especially when you are overwhelmed with all those responsibilities you can’t run away from.

Erectile dysfunction or ED is a condition in which a man has the inability to achieve or maintain erections during sexual performance. It can happen to any man and at any time, although, it is more common in older men.

Because it is a process that involves the brain, nerves, muscles, hormones and blood vessels, it means a problem from any of these can result in erectile dysfunction. There are many factors that can cause erectile dysfunction, and of course, ED can be treated.

Let’s start with Diabetes. Diabetes can cause damage to your body nerves and blood vessels that help in preparing you for sex, making the chances of ED higher.

2. Problem with the blood vessels: High blood pressure, heart diseases and blocked arteries affects the flow of blood through the body, making your body’s preparation for sex difficult.

3.Kidney and Liver Diseases: Your kidneys, liver and hormones are all vital for getting erections; problems with these can cause erectile dysfunction.

4. Stress and Depression: Sexual excitement starts from the brain and then makes its way down. Depression can affect your desire and make you uninterested in sex.

5. Alcohol and Tobacco use: Smoking and alcohol use can damage your blood vessels, increasing the chances of ED.
6. Obesity: Little or no exercise, being overweight can reduce testosterone levels and this works against getting erections. Sleep disorders can also cause erectile dysfunction.

7. Prescription medicines such as blood pressure drugs, pain medications and antidepressants can make it hard to get erections. Always discuss with your doctor on issues about this.

8. Prostate enlargement: This can also have an effect on the ability to get erections. This is usually a normal part of aging for most men.
9. Too much time on a bicycle may also cause dysfunction because a high proportion of your weight is placed on your perineum, which is an area where the arteries and nerves to the male organ pass.

Erectile dysfunction should not be confused with the “occasional” issues that most men experience. A lot of men have experienced and have dealt with ED before you, if you think you have it, you should talk to your doctor about it. Of course, it could be embarrassing discussing that kind of issue with your doctor but it’s the best way to get you intimate in bed again.

These lifestyle changes can treat or lessen your chances of erectile dysfunction:

Eat the right diet.
Keep a healthy weight.
Exercise regularly.
Do something about your alcohol consumption.
Stop smoking.
