You Were Voted Out For Non Performance, Okorocha Reply Ohakim by kingsman66(m): 4:54pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha,
yesterday said his predeccesor in office, Chief
Ikedi Ohakim was rejected at 2011 polls in the
state because of his dismal performance in
office and was never rigged out as he claimed.
Okorocha spoke in apparent reaction to an interĀ
view granted Daily Sun by the former governor
where he alleged, amongst other things that the
incumbent had destroyed the state.
This was just as he pointed out that those who
are nursing the ambition to govern the state in
2019 on zonal sentiments would fail. He said it
is the prerogative of the people to determine
who will govern them well regardless of which
zone he comes from.
The governor, who spoke through his Chief
Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo said the
ex-governor and his Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP)- led government had badly administered
the state between 2007 and 2011 and was
consequently voted out.
"If there had been one man who had paid the
state and her people in counterfeit, that man is
Chief Ikedi Ohakim, when he was the governor
of the state from 2007 to 2011.
If he had done well as governor, Imo people
would have given him the mandate for second
term."
Okorocha said for four years, what Ohakim
achieved were only master-plans that were
never worked on, "rather he, for four years,
what he achieved were only master-plans that
were never worked on.
He was busy hosting gala-nights and sharing reĀ
sources of the state to PDP bigmen. And it was
unfortunate."
He pointed out that his predecessor could not
accuse him of non-performance or destroying
the state as the projects thus far executed by
his administration are very glaring.
"We won't keep master-plans waiting for when
we will leave and come back because master-
plans are meant to be implemented and that is
why our projects are everywhere to be seen and
that is why the former governor Ikedi Ohakim
cannot accuse me of non-performance which
was the sole reason I was re-elected by the
good people of Imo State."
