Yorubas are cowards! Really?
'
But ask yourself, among the over 200 ethnic groups in Nigeria, which governor or elected political office holder has the guts to criticise Buhari every week? Only Fayose, a Yoruba.

The only other person who criticises Buhari’s government, albeit in a subtle way, is Sen Murray-Bruce. Other "brave politcians" from "brave ethnic groups" in Nigeria all keep quiet, even when their people are killed or their states invaded.

The only non-elected politician who criticises Buhari is Fani-Kayode, another Yoruba man. He has no need to do so but he does so regularly, not minding the risks involved, especially now that people are being arrested for some money paid into their account during the campaigns.
Olisa Metuh who was criticising the APC government as his official duty seems to have been cowed by his arrest and prosecution.

During the dictatorship of Buhari, IBB and Abacha, who led the resistance against their iron-fisted rule and actions? - Tai Solarin, Gani Fawehinmi, Beko Ransome-Kuti. Where are they from? The same cowardly Yorubaland!

During the pogroms and subsequent Biafran Civil War when most Nigerians either kept quiet or supported the killing of the Igbos, who raised their voices and risked their lives? Soyinka and Solarin. From where? The same cowardly Yorubaland.

Nigerians have created some stereotypes about every ethnic group which even educated people join in rehashing when they engage in ethnic bashing: Igbos are this; Yorubas are that, Hausas are this; Ijaws are that.

These stereotypes have been repeated over the years and believed by many without questioning. Comedians even use them as jokes. But if you analyse such stereotypes based on verifiable facts and figures, you will see how hollow they are. And no person who has self-worth should join in spreading such inanities about other people's ethnic groups, be they Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, Edo, etc. Always attack individuals, if you will, but leave out their ethnic groups.

Anyone who shares Stereotypical sentiments of any tribe or people is not intelligent in my opinion. One of the plethora of examples of what's majorly wrong with our society

Moral of this article is that the Yorubas with balls are in PDP, the slaves remain in APC.

Where is the list of the so-called 200 ethnic groups that Gowon was mandated by Queen Eliza to claim?

Anyway, are Yoruba people as a whole cowards? Of course not. I would say Yoruba leadership is rather opportunistic, where they are willing and going to sell out or sell in to who, what, and where that promotes their interest, even against fellow Yoruba.

The only thing is that some other groups don't get it, can't understand it, won't accept it, and can't accept that their leadership or culture may not be all that afterall, with EVEN bigger cowards in their ranks as well.

Look at IPOB dude challenging Okorocha the clown in London. Did you hear what the audience said. "You have made your point...we will throw you out...He is older(Okorocha) than you... Onye Eze (to Okorocha)" and subsequently an old red hat chief somehow found strength to toss the young man out so he can laugh and clap hands with Okorocha.

Too bad

I've never for once believed Yorubas are cowards.. The stereotype was crafted out of anger and hatred, I'm a Yoruba man and I know that I'm no coward..

I believe Yorubas are calculative, Yorubas don't bring a knife into a sword fight..

Being calculative doesn't make one a coward, had it been we are more calculative in our decisions and much effort had been done to curb corruption, Nigeria won't be in this state..

They mistaken being " insultive" and " irrational" as bravery.

I'm a Yoruba and i won't fight........... but you'll be surprised how far N5000 will go in dealing with a person and his loved ones.

Moral, we move in silence so you'll never see us coming.
