On the 7th of April around at about 7:19pm. I with drew money from fcmb ATM point 3000 thousand naira. So i put the money into my purse and went away. I didn't make use of the money till Saturday only for me to found out one of the bank note was counterfeit a whole 1000 thousand naira .so today being Monday i went to lay complain and i was treated like an idiot. So nairalanders beware check your money when you make a withdrawal before leaving any ATM point.

Had similar experience from a branch of Fidelity Bank ATM whereby I took 15k and drove to a gas station to get gas only to be told that 1k among the money I wanted to use to pay that I withdrew from an ATM machine was fake.

What this translates is that the officer responsible in loading the ATM machine is responsible for the fake note dispensed from those machines as the teller checks the machine first at the point of depositing money by any customer and also they have mercury bob to check the money.

Too bad. Let the managers start checking those officers responsible for loading the ATM machines as they are the ones responsible for loading those fake currencies as the fake currency cannot find their way into the bank without an insider responsible for this act.
