– Faith Andrew is a 14-year-old girl who needs a kidney transplant, but her family does not have money for the operation
– Isaac Adewole, the minister of health, visited the girl at the hospital and promised to pay all medical expenses accruing to the patient
– Adewole assured Nigerians that they soon would benefit from Universal Health Coverage Programme championed by the present administration

Isaac Adewole visits Faith Andrew, a 14-year-old girl who needs a kidney transplant.
Isaac Adewole, the minister of health, has promised that the federal government will help Faith Andrew, a 14-year-old girl who needs a kidney transplant.
Faith is one of the six children being catered for by her widowed mother who is a subsistence farmer. The girl is seriously ill and needs about N7m for a transplant.
On Tuesday, April 12, Adewole visited Faith who is currently undergoing medical treatment at Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the minister promised to pay all medical expenses accruing to the patient.
Shortly after his visit, Adewole took to the official handle of the ministry of health where he assured Nigerians that they soon would benefit from Universal Health Coverage Programme championed by the present administration.

In November 2015, the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) carried out a successful kidney transplant on a 56-year-old man.
The transplant operation which lasted for two and half hours was the first in the history of LASUTH.
