Lagos-Calabar Railway Project: PDP Lovers in the South South, What Do You Have To Say?

APC (Senators), insisted on capturing the Lagos-Calabar rail project in the budget, while those from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP (Senators), stood firm that the President must assent the budget and later submit the project in a supplementary budget.

That is the Hausa and Yoruba Senators are saying, "The Niger Delta people must get their Railway Project now."

The Southern Senators said," No, give all the money to the North."

The blame remains with illiterate Buhari who didn't know how budgets work.

So you feel someone like Sen. Udoma Udo who works with President Buhari does not know how Budget work.

Let us stop deceiving ourselves. Our Senators are out there fighting that the Senate should not give us the Lagos-Calabar Railway Project and your calling President Buhari.

Na Wa.

I wish someone can pass this message to the PDP Senators. For once, they should put their Selfish interest aside and allow the Lagos-Calabar Railway Project. How can our own Senators kick against the Project?

Listen, APC Knows that they made a mistake for not putting that Project in the Budget initially and they even made a more “Bigger Mistakes” by trying to Smuggle it in through the Back Door using Amechi. Elections are coming up in Edo and Ondo sates later this Year, just watch and see how the people in those areas will react on Election Days, this is their First Rail lines we are Talking About here, they will Kick APC out ofcouse.

Let us take it that, APC made mistakes with the budget, or smuggled it with the backdoor, is that why our Senators should reject it?

Are our people so blinded with sentiments?

So you want the North to spend N92 Billion on a Railway why we get nothing.

By the way, educate yourself on this matter.

The Lagos-Calabar Railway Project was not smuggled into the Budget.

The Minister for Budget and Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, told our reporter at the weekend that the government included the project in the 'amended budget' and passed it to the Standing Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

You guys are so blind that you are ready to defend Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin dump your project.

Further investigations by SaharaReporters however showed that the Standing Committees did receive an amended budget that included the project.

All d PDP senators are just forming Solidarity with Saraki at d expense of thier people.
Pathetic.

With the supplementary, it means all the money they have diverted to their constituency project remains. With amendment the FG is asking for, it means removing what they added (Padded) and using the money for Calabar rail road. The funny thing is that most of the things added (padded) are for the North. Can you see how foolish and myopic our SS and SE senators are?

Our myopic SS and SE senators are busy shouting the calabar rail was not in the submitted budget. But their smart Northern senate colleague added Northern project which were not included in the submitted project. Can self destruction be more than this all in the name of shallow and bear parlour politics?

For those SS and SE peoples who does not understand the benefit of this rail project, let me explain it to them.

Today to travel from Calabar to lagos by bus cost atleast 7000 naira. with these rail it will cost about 3000 naira.
This will also reduce the number of people dying by road accident.
This will also reduce the traffic on our road.
This will also reduce exposure to high way arm robbers.

In summary, the truth is that all this budget controversy is because of only one reason, which is, Buhari have some level of Integrity that is not common among average Nigeria politician. Buhari integrity for sure is not 100%, but it is much higher than the integrity of an average Nigerian politician.

If Buhari was sharing Ghana must go,the Budget would have be considered perfect by NASS.

If we decide to go and study all the budget sent to NASS by the presidency since 1999, you will be shock that they have much more errors than this current budget. But yet most of them pass the house without major issues.

Some people accuse Buhari of not lobbying Senate and they try to compare Obama lobbying of US senate to Nigeria. In US, lobbying is all about supporting a senator's bill and federal intervention for thier constituency.

But in Nigeria lobbying means the following:
1. Share Ghana must go filled with Naira/dollar to NASS members
2. Stop Saraki glaring corruption trial
3. Look the other way when NASS members are involved in major corrupt practices.

Is that the kind of lobbying we want from our president?

PDP obviously want this railway controversy to linger thereby reducing the credibility of APC in any forthcoming elections. This isn't about doing what's right, it is politics. The north can take it all and the blame game will continue for all they care.

Meanwhile this railway map circulating all over the Internet is it the original? Cos I find it hard to believe that it reached Onitsha and doubled back to Warri. Quite unbelievable and it looks as fake as fuc.k.
This route would've made more sense....if it bifurcates at Benin with one going deep in to the SS and the other deep into the SE and then they both converge at PH ......Eg Benin-Onitsha-Owerri-Aba-PH and the other angle Benin-Warri-Yenegoa-PH where they continues to Calabar.
