It was rainy Sunday morning when our Pastor mounted the pulpit, he told the Church there’s a friend of his who visited the Church, he will like him to come and greet the congregation and share with them what he feels will benefit God’s people. As the old man mounted the pulpit he cleared his throat greeted the Church and he began a story, he said “a man and his wife waited for 20 years for the fruit of the womb after their marriage, finally on august 12th 1988 his wife conceived and gave birth to a boy, the excitement that greeted the arrival of the new born child knows no bound. The man and his wife became the happiest couple in the whole wide world.
Being a very rich man, the man was very happy that finally God had given him someone who will inherit his wealth. As a Godly man he is, he had patiently waited and asked the Lord for a hair, against the advice of his friends, who advised him to leave his faith and do the needful by turning his back on Christ, so that a herbalist they know will give him a child that will be his hair, but their advice fell on a deaf ear as the man held on to his faith. And God finally rewarded his faith on him.
20years later he bought a new yacht and asked his only son to join him on a cruise, his son in turn invited one of his friends who were dear to him. And they set a sail; at the middle of the ocean a great wind started the storm was so much that it threw the yacht on a rock and the yacht was wrecked, so the man’s son and his friend fell inside the ocean; the man was the only one with life jacket, the man was left either to throw the life jacket to his son or throw it to his son’s friend. And the man thought to himself that his son is born again Christian and if he dies he will go to heaven but his son’s friend is not born again, if he dies he will go to hell fire, the man threw the life jacket to his son’s friend and watched his only son die. So the man made the decision because of his love for Christ and because, he doesn’t want a soul to go to hell.
Finally, after the service two young boys went to the old man, and told him that the story was very interesting but only that is Impossible for it to happen in real life, the old man looked at the young boys and told them that the man who did that is him that’s talking to them and the boy he saved is the Pastor of the Church.
