But this country was doing better than Ethiopia in 2014.
Ethiopia replaced Nigeria as the fastest growing economy and largest FDI recipient in Africa just this year.
What has changed?
BTW, Nigeria has always been investment partners with China since the Jonathan Era.
So what is the noise about it now, like it is a special policy unheard of in this country's history.?

At the start of 2014...oil prices were high.

God bless you, we should and must continue to clamour for true federalism but then we shouldn't reduce our debates to PDP versus APC. If the government succeeds we would benefit and if it fails we would have paid the price and then we can kick them out come 2019 but right now the government needs all our support regardless of political inclinations.

The train, which was initially built to counter the challenges that Ethiopia’s drought this year would pose, has received an expanded vision. It has now acquired a Pan-African vision; it will expand to run through South Sudan, Sudan, Kenya and other East African countries.

Exactly!.

This is what scares western powers more than anything. I wrote that in a previous thread.

Western nations does not want a situation where one good idea from one African country spread to other third world countries. Because, that's how colonialism ended. Freedom from colonialism began from Lord Kwame Nkrumah is Ghana, and immediately Ghana got her independence it spiraled into a domino effect, and within a couple of years every other African nation fought for her freedom.

Western nations are scared and literally fighting for their survival now, not Nigeria. They're scared because once Nigeria figure out how to solve our current economic impasse, it would become a model for other third world countries to by-pass the IMF and world bank's exploitation. This's the real reason they don't want us act outside of the IMF or world bank control, and it's the real reason the neo-colonialist Ms. Christine Lagarde is frequenting Nigeria.

Keep it up Africa!.

ironically, those people are not among the alakijas, dajum'as, Otedola, IBB e. t. c that have shared your Country as spoils from the civil war and are aversed to progressive policies like fiscal federalism and the PIB .
Keep chasing shadows. Your children would continue from where you stopped.
What do you understand as fiscal federalism? Have you ever read a copy of the PIB? Stop repeating clichés without understanding.
Please think of this question, what more can fiscal federalism do for Bayelsa that is owing workers' salaries despite receiving record allocations monthly?
There was poverty in those places even when we made $130 per barrel!
And hoping my country does well is not chasing shadows, it shouldn't be for you, except you're a masochist.
And to correct you, i own my share of the country and I'm sure you can own yours with hardwork and the right attitude. No need to be bitter.

Stop making comparisons of Nigeria and Ethopia.

What is the Population of Ethiopia?
What value does Ethopia contribute to the World Trade Index
What is the worth of Ethopia's FOREX and Foreign Reserve
What is Ethopia's GDP

you can't compare this figures and pointers to that of Nigeria.

You guys should stop being gullible and suckers to every move made by Buhari.
Keep quiet.

Good comment.

I am afraid a lot of people don't get what fiscal federalism means. Does it mean the actual villages that produce oil would be controlling the revenues, or the actual LGA, or the state or the region?

buhari never went to china to sign a loan.
he went to china to award contract to chinese government.a contract he knows nothing or didnt see the financial details of the contract, then for our future generation to pay for the contract ,years after he must have left office or maybe not even alive when we will be paying for the contract.
this contract is just like ppp,,but no one knows the details coz the illiterate never asked.
i use to think if a private sector want to finance a project for the govt.tht the details & content of the contract are made very clear...pmb should stop mortgaging nigeria & throw open such bids if he has such intentions to award contract of this magnitude.
oga let's reason intellectually together..

PMB went to sign contact abi? And Nigeria may be indebted in billions right?? Our grandchildren may continue servicing a debt they know nothing about right? I don't dispute that.... BUT if with the signed contract, PMB is able to build light rail from LAG-- CAL and from Lagos to kano, increase the power generation from 4000 to at least 10, 000MW, massive infrastructural development, creating jobs etc, then my grandchildren will be happy to be indebted whether u like it or not, government will always borrow. And all the government loans from 1960 till date have only succeeded in 'impoverishing' Nigerians!! I believe in PMB

Long story typical of a no economic policy. The jargons of finance and economics only serve the elites and brokers of the economy not the masses.
In a simple layman's language : this govt Has no economic policy direction aggregated and codify in simple terms.
What we have is a curtail of confusion with conflicting underbellies. The question is therefore ; are we on welfarism/socialism or free enterprise and individual self actualization?

America with the highest capitalism in the world, still have welfare and socialist imput like food stamp, some free basic healthcare in public hospital, foster homes for children, cheap public schools etc.

Fiscal federalism briefly is autonomous States taking charge of their vehicles of production. It invariably confers adequate economic power on the states without backward federal oversight and bottleneck.
Bayelsa is a poor state because it has been rendered a mere giant oil well pumping oil for parasites and dictators.
The state does not have the wherewithal or legal standing to add value to its own resources how best it see fit, because the National budget is hanging on how much oil is sold.
And yes, you are chasing shadows if you believe a divisive president will take you to the promise land in eight years.
You are chasing shadows if you believe the enemy of your country are fellow citizens like you who see the president as hopeless and rightly so.
A president whose legacy after a brief eight years would be a couple of road projects and a highly divided country on the brink.
And no, you do not own shitt in your country. You can't even get fuel to power your generators.

of course they have much better leadership than Nigeria.
My only problem is with the recent China hype. The same China that was already building rails, roads, and power stations in Nigeria as far as 2013.
The same China that was already supplying your army and Navy MRaps and warships since 2014.
There nothing new about China.

Why did Aisha Buhari have to wait for Buhari to travel to China before launching her beauty book?

Answer :

She knew that her husband wouldn't attend because he's grossly angry with her, so she waited till he travelled before fixing it so that his absence wouldn't be missed.

Omo see sense ooo!

She doesn't want Nigerians to know that she and Buhari's marriage has been in shambles ever since she was caught with Wale Tinubu in his yatch. Did you see her dressing in those circulated photos? Aisha that covers herself all the time exposed her bare shoulders and neck! Haba!

She's lucky that Bubu is frail and old, if not na 3rd wife straight.

Zombies don't quote me!!
