I thought the most effective way to repair ones image, is to actually sit down and work on every "pixel" that makes up the image, not carrying the image around hoping others see it in a different light.

For example, if an employee is known for coming late, isn't it better that employee repairs his/her image by starting to show up early, instead of trying to lobby all his/her supervisors

They keep taking Nigerians for fools and really there are a lot of fools in Nigeria, so they always have a ready audience, the zombies.

How many times has Obama visited Nigeria to repair Americas image for its notorious gun crimes?

Instead of them to try to figure out how to make security the same standard as developed countries, increase power supply, ensure there is availability of petrol, revamp schools, curb corruption on the streets... They are travelling to "repair our image to outsiders"

Does that make sense to any sensible person.

Yes I agree with you, it is a figure of speech that reflects the naivety of the person saying it.
