Letter From A Southern Elder To Northern Elders... (MUST READ...) by sommyblaze(m): 9:53pm On Apr 20, 2016
√DEAR NORTHERN ELDERS ••• from a SOUTHERN
ELDER
Dear Northern Elders,
¶A few months ago, someone in my church
publicly called me "Elder." People laughed. It was
supposed to be a joke but now I realize why
Providence cracked that joke on me. It has come
in quite handy.
My fellow Elders, from time immemorial, whenever
elders spoke, men and angels stood at attention
for one and only one reason: the wisdom of grey
hair. The elder's wisdom isn't what you acquire
from the university. My maternal uncle, who never
touched a slate much less break one, died at 100.
But the knowledge and wisdom he radiated
couldn't have been found in the brains of one
hundred professors of Physics.
••• The voice of the elder soothes, it heals. It
reassures. It exudes peace. It calms the red hot
emotions of the young. The voice of the elder is
pleasant, kind and uplifting.
Indeed, my fellow Yoruba elders say that one never
hears, “Beat him up” in the mouth of an elder.
Never!
However, Northern Elders, whenever you open your
mouth, the earth trembles in horror and stops
rotating. Each time you open your mouth or write a
letter to your President, a spiritual eclipse
envelopes Nigeria. Whenever you speak, the
language is, "Beat him up!"
Northern Elders, whenever you speak, it is a battle
cry, a jihad. It is the call for blood, fire and
destruction. When I look at your numbers, I am
troubled that the very Northern youth who carried
out the first Biafran genocide in 1967-70 are
today's "Northern Elders!" Forty-six years after,
we're still at Aburi! Nothing has changed. You
have never shown interest in the healing of "the
vanquished." Because blood is still on your
tongue
Northern Elders, the very first time you spoke was
barely two weeks after Nigeria's "independence"
from the wily British, your aider and abetter. You
declared to a startled world and a hypnotized
South that:
"The new Nation called Nigeria SHOULD BE an
estate of our Great Grand Father Uthman Dan
Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of
Power, we use the minorities of the North as willing
tools and the South as a conquered territory and
never allow them to rule over us and never allow
them to have control over their future," Ahmadu
Bello in the Parrot Newspaper, October, 1960.
Haba, Northern Elders! That you will never allow
the South rule over you? That we can accept
because no human group should "rule" over others
against their will. But that you also will NEVER
allow them to have control over their destiny!?
Good heavens, Elders! You will never allow them
...?
That the people will never rule over you and that
they shouldn't even control their own (not your
own) destiny?
••• Elders, all your utterances are always in line
with that script of 12 October 1960. Fellow Elders,
look at another of your utterances in 2011 below:
”Anything short of a Northern President is
tantamount to STEALING OUR PRESIDENCY.
Jonathan has to go and he will go. Even if he uses
incumbency power to get his nomination on the
platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out (If
Jonathan emerges President next year). If that
happens, the North is determined, to make the
country ungovernable for President Jonathan or
any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat
of power on the platform of the PDP.”
And you delivered just as you threatened.Cong
ratulations! But wait a minute -- did you say
"stealing YOUR Presidency?" I thought we were
ONE NIGERIA?
••• Now, Northern Elders, I read in the papers today
that you have spoken again. You have cried,
called, in fact, demanded your President to
"upwardly review capital allocations to the North"
and to CRUSH Biafra. Again? Elders, Biafra again?
I am not an IPOB member nor do I believe their
method will yield the result they want. There is a
better way. But my point, fellow Elders, is that
your cry to Buhari is a troublesome one. I do not
believe that our dear Elders are spoiling for some
bloody mischief. That is exactly how every
genocide in history began. Be careful! Elders don't
instigate murder and crime, they make peace.
••• Northern Elders, peace begins with listening.
Southern Elders say that if you bend the ear close
enough to the ground you can the heartbeat of an
ant. Have you listened to these boys you want to
"crush" and kill? Do you have an alternative future
for them than death? Have you given them
alternative to death?
The last time I checked, these peacefully
demonstrating IPOB youth of whom Nigeria is no
longer worthy are not asking to rule over you.
They do not want to rule over the North! What then
is your cry for their blood? They are not asking for
your money. They are not kidnapping your
daughters or stealing your land. Why do you use
the instrument of state to mass murder and dump
them in the forests?
They just want to be! But you already said that you
will NEVER let them have control over their
destiny. Never? C'mon Elders!
••• One more thing, you are always crying that you
don't have enough or you haven't been given
enough from the "National cake." But, have you for
once thought about baking this cake by yourself?
Don't you feel insulted as elders when some
people in the South call you "parasites" because
you do not produce but you eat more and demand
more food than the ones producing the cake?
Fellow Elders, don't you think that your greatest
legacy is to encourage your North to become self
sustaining? Build your pride. Prove to the world
that you can exist on your own! Increase your own
capital! Transfom the North like Dubai! It's
possible! Stop crying like a baby that you have too
little. You're Elders.
Now, this is Elder to Elder:
••• You have massive agricultural land in the North.
You have the potential to feed all of Europe and
Africa! Second, you are endowed with more
mineral deposits in the North than the entire
Subsaharan Africa!
Allah is good to you, Northern Elders! Why not re-
channel all this murderous energy of yours into
building your own destiny instead of committing to
never allowing others have control over their own
destiny?
I wish you well, my good people.
Yours truly
Southern Elder.

“We commend Mr President’s stand and disposition towards the threats posed by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and advise that in addition to allowing full weight of the law to be deployed against these threats, Mr. President should support initiatives which isolate this threat among Igbo people.”
And how does this encourage genocide? i don't see anything provocative or hateful in their statement. Whoever wrote this is a hypocrite and a coward. Claiming to be neutral but you can clearly detect undertones of hatred and bigotry. And op, seriously? your source is facebook?

i guess that explains it.

I didn't say you should have lied, I just said it should have been a more credible and objective source. Also, what do you mean by hating? This is a very biased write up full of blunders and assumptions.

That's because you saw what you wanted to see. That's because you always see northerners as blood thirsty monsters. That is not always true, as in this case.

Make sense
But they're so stubborn and obstinate. Its unlikely that they act in tandem with this.
