The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  has taken early lead in the council election results so far released in some units and wards in Ondo state The All Progressive Congress, APC, failed to stop the election as the Federal High Court sitting in Akure struck out cases, instituted by the APC, for lack of jurisdiction and abuse of court process.

In her ruling, Justice, Folashade Olubanjo said the Federal High Court does not have jurisdiction of cases involving the conduct of local government election under the purview of state governments and its relevant agencies.

Olabanjo added that it would amount to judicial pettiness to proceed with the suit when issues on the dissolution of the former councils was still pending before the Supreme Court.

According to the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, 14 political parties participated in the local government elections. The chairman of the commission, Olugbenga Ige, noted that the number was initially 15, but PPA later announced its withdrawal, citing its inability to field candidates for the election.

The leader in this election, is arguable the only national party in Nigeria. This is the more reason why it will be very easy for them to come back to the centre in 2019, since it is clear now that everyone is rejecting change.

From the ashes of the 2015 set backs; this party will rise like a phoenix, more strong, formidable and mature than they were before.


The people will no longer see the broom chastising them, but will look up and find themselves under the shade of the umbrella.

Just saw the heady, rushed to the comment box, clicked on it and typed this jargon and submitted it. I know you didn't read the part where it was written that APC didn't participate in the Election.

So lemme ask you now, APC won 5 seats in Abuja while APGA won 1, does that now mean Nigerians have started rejecting PDP? Guess by 2018 APGA would be the new face of the main opposition. PDP is dead and has been buried in Nigeria. Lest I forget, one of your topmost Politician in the North, Isa Yuguda just dumped the sinking ship. So may you now pls stop the hallucination of coming back in 2019?
