GHANA : Clashes Continue Between Local Farmers and Fulani Pastoralists

Following clashes in the Kwahu South District of Ghana’s eastern region between rural farmers and indigenous Fulani, a local newspaper calls on Ghana ’s Armed Forces to reactivate “Operation Cowleg,” a military operation launched in the late 1990s. At that time, Fulani herdsmen were forced out of Ghana across the border into Nigeria . Traditionally, West African Fulani participated in a symbiotic relationship with local agriculturalists, which has deteriorated in recent years due to population pressures and intensified land use in the area.

All African crime and deviancy are often attributed to Nigerians. Since the advent of Nigeria image in this new media age, citizens of other African nations no longer commit crime. Nigerians symbolically represent sub-Saharan Africans disgracefully dying on the high seas flooding Europe not Somalians, Ethiopians, Eritreans, Sudanese or Senegalese. 'Oh', they say, 'Nigerians represent 99.9 percent of Africans in Spain, they prostitute and disgrace Africa'. How strange then that the winner of one of Spain's largest lottery accumulations was Senegalese. undecided
