Expecting them to come out tomorrow to deny they ever promised any 1,000 youth empowerment.

APC is a Scam. Believe what they promise at your own risk.

But why can't Nigerian government deal with sane and trustworthy countries like Japan, Germany and few others for technology trainning and not china that is known for fake and substandard products. Our youths will come back with the knowledge of fake and substandard trainning. Shame to our leaders.

Nonsense government.
You would be the first to complain, "their children and cronies" if you heard the program has already taken off

Your misconception about china is because you regularly buy their only cheapest products, A brief check might reveal you are currently using a Samsong Note 7

So u really believe that the list of this 1000 hasn't been already compiled? They are only telling now in order to make it public so that you wont say u never heard of it. 1000 ia equal to 33 per state. Tinubu and ambode will produce the candidates for Lagos while other apc governors too will compile for their states .

Huawei has promised to empower 1000 Nigerians, but that doesn't mean it will happen.

You can be sure that Huawei is willing to do their part, but the industry is reducing jobs currently and will see further reductions in the future. All telecoms are increasingly using automated and remote network management, both of which sharply reduce the need for local manpower. Huawei's EasyRET solution means fewer Nigerians have to climb towers, that reduces jobs, but lowers costs and increases safety. Safety is the most important thing.

Bad news in SA is spreading across Africa, unfortunately:

http://mybroadband.co.za/news/telecoms/161914-bad-news-for-telecoms-jobseekers-2.html

Huawei's equipment is manufactured mostly by robots, which is great, because humans make errors.
http://www.huawei.com/ilink/en/solutions/broader-smarter/HW_197211

The EasyRet Solution is super efficient, and that's good for reducing costs, which means Internet and phone tariffs are lower. However, because no humans are needed to operate the or adjust the base stations/towers, not many local people are needed to maintain networks.
