Don't Expect Change Until The Budget Is Signed, FG Tells Nigerians by Nobody: 11:59am On Apr 25, 2016
THE much expected change in the country will not manifest until the 2016 budget is signed and implemented by the federal government, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has said.

He spoke yesterday at the launch of an updated edition of a book; “Each Man, His Time-The Biography of An Era,” written by a former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh (Yerima of Auchi Kingdom) and the celebration of his 47th marriage anniversary in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

Onu said the federal government was still running the country with the 2015 budget of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari was working assiduously to ‎provide job opportunities and secure lives and property of Nigerians and should be supported to provide good governance.

He added that the president wanted to institutionalise free and fair elections so that anyone fit for any elective position could contest and win without rigging.

“Change won’t come until the 2016 budget is signed. What we are using now is the 2015 budget which was not done by us. Our president has restored our image to the position of repute, so let’s support him,” he said.

Onu added that the APC-led government was committed to fulfilling all its campaign promises to Nigerians.

Prince Tony Momoh described the book as the story of a kingdom and its explosive growth during the era of Momoh the first from 1919 to 1944.

He advised Nigerians not to expect immediate change, stressing that change would begin to come in two years.

“Change must come, but be patient. Within two years, ‎you will be celebrating change,” he said.

Momoh said he had no conflict with his wife since they got married 47 years ago, and flayed the former PDP-led government for diverting funds meant for the purchase of arms to fight Boko Haram.
